The vegetarian matoke stew was excellent. I ate here twice just so I could have the matoke stew again. Certainly a hip restaurant with westerners in Kigali.

No public parks for children to play in Kigali. So Pili-Pili and Club Mambo and others fill the needA swimming pool (new extra charge for using) a sand playground and other toys for childrenDrink prices are reasonable, food is OK but not exciting, service is slowBUTa nice way to spend an afternoon with friends and let the children play
This place is a Kigali hidden gem - more for the difficulty in finding the place...but everybody local knows this place has some sensational grilled meats. Kenyan in style, this is the place for goat leg, chicken and beef grilled - hot and tasty. The service is slow, but it is worth the wait. Car Wash won't likely pass any white glove inspection, but if you enjoy your food casual and your drinks cold. Plus a video DJ spinning hits when there isn't a game on the big screen - this is the place for you.

I'm struggling to write this review, as although the staff were incredibly well intentioned and friendly, everything about this hotel was utterly useless. Our check in was relatively chaotic, the receptionist insisted he escorted us individually to our rooms, which although was a nice thought there were 7 of us, so it took ages. I had one of the garden rooms, the walk to the room was nice, but the room itself was incredibly basic. The wardrobes and bed resembled more a victorian care home than a hotel room, the bathroom was verging on unpleasant, peculiar lighting throughout the room and all in all felt unwelcoming. Staff were, as I said, very friendly but terribly slow. The service was non existent when you needed something, but invasive when you didn't. Wifi was poor and relatively confusing, about 9 different passwords & routers, which were just 3G mobile tethers and were broken more often than not. Honestly, the food was pretty hit and miss; admittedly as a vegetarian I voluntarily limited the menu for myself, but over the 4 nights I stayed I can't say I left feeling satisfied with a single meal I had there. Service once again was incredibly slow, and one evening it took well over an hour for our food to arrive. Most of all, I must confess I was shocked to find how expensive this hotel was, as I had been invited I didn't book or pay for my accommodation, but when I arrived we needed to arrange another room and was required to pay $300 per night, which I honestly thought was shocking and can't think of any way of justifying their extortionate prices.
