We were newly arrived in Huaraz and visiting friends who wanted to take us somewhere special. They choose San Remo and it looked good. Unfortunately, the staff sat us upstairs and then âforgotâ about us serving many local groups first.Whilst most people got served within 20 minutes, we waited nearly an hour before our food was delivered. Once it arrived, our pork-based meals were undercooked and only then were told that not all of our selections were available. Our host had words with the owner/manager. she apologised profusely but did little to address the deficiencies, other than offering a round of free pisco sour cocktails.I hope that attitude and service in San Remo will improve in the near future, if so, it would make a great addition to the Huaraz restaurant scene. Regrettably, given our experience, it seems likely that the current management will miss the basics and fail to deliver to an international clientele.I look forward to reading forthcoming review and hope the the best!

Fuimos a comer llegando de viaje y la verdad que nos sirvieron una sopa bien concentrada y los platos de fondo suficientes para un buen almuerzo y la atención excelente por parte de los mozos.

I had dinner here recently, just before heading out on a trek of the Cordillera Huayhuash. The place was packed by the time I left and people were turning away at the door. They put out a great pizza. It is located near Huaraz's main plaza, easy to find.

The food coming from the kitchen here are just done RIGHT; crisp fries, juicy burgers, boldly flavored sandwiches, and perfectly grilled anticuchos(I ate here multiple times). The food isn't fancy but that doesn't mean they cut corners like some other places. Which, after traveling for a while I notice and really appreciate. In short I feel that they care about food they are putting out.

Ordered the vegetable lasagna. The bowl that came looked like french onion soup. There was some eggplant and zucchini swimming in a very salty broth and covered with cheese. No tomatoes or other vegetables, no pasta. We would have complained but were unsure if that would have reflected poorly on the waiter. If I'd been served that in the States, I would have questioned it before I even tasted it. The bread was excellent. Saw a pizza delivered to another table, and it looked very good.
