What do you say about Alex. Located towards the top of the Senegambia Service Road opposite the Craft Market. An outside terrace bar basically with a big TV inside usually on a sport channel. Popular with drop in drinkers and locals a like, a well known meet up point. Food from 9.00am breakfast to late evening. Assumes a more restaurant feel evenings when the table cloths come out. Probably the best range on food at the best prices anywhere in the area. Friendly and affable waiting staff on shift too numerous to list by name. Good internet connection, but note only one table with a mains charge point nearby.
Gambia's newest star serving excellent affordable food in a comfortable and relaxing setting a little away from the bustle of the Senegambia Strip. We serve English breakfast, lunch and dinner till late. Coming soon will be our sports bar and lounge and o
We tried most of the top ranked restaurants in Kololi (according to TA reviews) and some were very good indeed. We saw Sofa Nyama when we were coming out of Scala after an excellent Chateaubriand. Sofa Nyama is a new restaurant and has very few reviews but we thought we would try it the following night. It was a lovely place with good, attentive service and clean, well lit, modern toilets ( not always the case in The Gambia). Now to the food. Superb!! The flavours and presentation were worthy of a "MasterChef" finalist. We had a sharing platter of 3 different Gambian favourites and went back the next night and I had a steak special with chilli and noodles. My wife had a grilled lemon fish special. My only regret is that I didn't take a photo of the dishes to share with TripAdvisor readers. We shared a dessert and had a drink each. The bill came to less than 1500 dalasi (about £22). We have 2 nights left of our holiday. One night will be at Scala the other will be at Sofa Nyama.Thank you so much for your review - we will pass it on to the team who will be so pleased their effort are appreciated.

Wandered up to Kuta from Kololi.. passing many beach boys trying to get you into their bars, we backtracked to Barista as we were promised sun beds hassle free & thatâs exactly what we got. We now walk up most days as itâs the best we can find. All staff are really friendly & polite. Can recommend the sandwiches, chicken yassa, beer & a bottle of wine was nice at sunset after a hot day. I had a head massage which was nice & the menu gives information on a local village they support. All in all, we now take the walk up & can highly recommend.

New restaurant in ideal location opposite the American Embassy in Kairaba Avenue, next to the Patisserie (ideal for cakes).Teething problems with the menu - waitress, very pleasant, gave us menus with a limited selection of dishes, but all very interestingly different, including a Pakistani dish which I believe is a first in Gambia - owned by Ahmed from Pakistan.I chose teryaki salmon and asked what came with it - nothing, you have to order a rice dish or chips. I asked her to check and she returned with a different reply - 'it comes with boiled rice or chips'. Anything else like vegetables? 'NO' Ok I ordered it with chips and Diana had prawns in orange sauce, with rice. The salmon was small but excellent, chips were fine and the large portion of swwetcorn all over the plate was unexpected. I don't like sweetcorn so asked her vwhy it was there. She then told me it comes with the dish! As it happened, it was in tasty sauce and was very nice. First time I have ever enjoyed corn.Diana's prawns were very numerous - I had to help her out. Rice was fine, but nothing else came with it. I preferred the salmon, Diana enjoyed the prawns.I spoke to the owner, who told me about the other menu (I had been given the 'starting' menu), which was displayed on a large board outside, which I simply didn't see, and which the waitress failed to mention. He tells me that he has now prepared a full printed menu, including new Pakistani dishes which would be ready in a few days. We shall return to see if we can find the lost star !Ahmed then brought us a sample of a Pakistani dish for us to taste. Very nice, but completely devoid of sauce. He assures me that next week it will have a sauce - we shall see.All in all, very nice so far - expecting the final improvement soon - I will report on the outcome. Thanks for a very generous review. We are very glad that positive suggestions has been given and we'll take note your review very well. Hoping the next time you come a better Pinay's Delight will come your way. Thank you.

I ordered the fillet steak....... Er more like strip loin. Was very tough. Very small amount of chips.Husband had the beef fajitas. Again tough.Unfortunately he was then poorly that night and for the next 24 hours D+V. Everything comes smothered in weird sauces, maybe to try and disguise the meat? This was not a cheap meal.......£30.00 for The Gambia?? Someone's getting rich by ripping off tourists.

Great restaurant with a huge choice from the menu from traditional Gambian to continental food. The Gambian Domada peanut and chicken stew was excellent. Staff and atmosphere super with local musicians playing outside. A lively part of town with plenty of bars and live music to enjoy.
