Had dinner with family during the hectic French, English, Swiss and Belgian half term so reservations needed. The restaurant is off the lobby of the hotel but doesnât suffer from that at all. The kids had the menu enfant which was good, especially the cheese burger, with the menu enfant offering more options than youâd normally find. As a steak house the restaurant focus is meat, cooked and presented both to local / French methods as well as customary US steak house standards. We had entrecôte Rossini as well as entrecôte US style. The quality was excellent, the steaks cooked to perfection and delivered with customary although slightly unimaginative side dishes. Desserts were a highlight, especially La Pomme. Le Beef Lodge is pricey even by Megeve standards but well worth a visit if you are seeking a great steak. Staff are friendly and the wine list is very good; strong on Bordeaux and priced accordingly. This is a lovely place with a nice decoration and pleasant atmosphere. The service isn't very welcoming. Polite and somewhat efficient but nothing more. We were however very disappointed by the food. The tartiflette wasn't cooked enough and frankly just not very good. The fish dish with risotto was a bit tasteless. We had to return a dish that was served cold ( frozen food?) Even the Tarte aux myrtilles which is supposed to be the specialty was plain and the crust not very good. So a real disappointment.

We had a pizza at this very friendly place, which was delicious! The owners were very friendly and forthcoming. The only thing we had wished for was a bit more variety on the menu, such as salads. But nonetheless, we will be back!
