££-£££, Japanese Cuisine, Sushi and Ramen Restaurant. Fresh and Traditional Asian Taste. Child Friendly Restaurant.
This relatively new addition to the ever expanding East Belfast food scene was a welcome surprise - but really, plastic trees in the sushi? What a blast from the past! And itâs BYOB £3.00 CorkageWeâve driven past this restaurant a few times and it always looked intriguing. After hearing a few favourable comments, and having a rare free Saturday evening, we decided to give it a shot.We made a booking and were glad we did, because it was packed, and walk-ins were being politely turned away. There was an eclectic combination of customers which really gave the place a buzzy vibe.We ordered several dishes: to start-Spicy Tuna RollYasai GyozaKushiyaki &EdamameAnd for mains-Salmon teriyaki soba &Tofu steakIt was all excellent quality and it arrived when cooked, so this meant that we had time to savour each dish. If youâre in a rush, the service may feel a little slow, but we were delighted that we had time to enjoy each course before another arrived. There were two slightly odd things which confused us somewhat - we expect to be offered chopsticks in an Asian restaurant but when we sat at the table we were told that the restaurant had no chopsticks left. However when we looked round, one table of two which hadnât yet arrived had chopsticks on theirs. We asked if could we have them, so the waitress then supplied us with those chopsticks. However during our meal we discovered that other tables were having chopsticks delivered to them on request and at the end of the evening, all the tables being set for lunch the next day were furnished with, yes you guessed it, chopsticks!! We were told there werenât any! It just all felt a little bit weird.Secondly, a slightly retro peculiarity is the abundance of plastic foliage decorating the spicy tuna roll which felt completely unnecessary even though it made us smile about âSaturday Night Beneath The Plastic Palm Treesâ by The Leyton Buzzards, and Radioheadâs âFake Plastic Treesâ. Ah nostalgia!Overall we were really very pleasantly surprised at this addition to the area, providing fantastic quality Japanese food in an eclectic environment. It had a buzzing atmosphere and we will definitely be back.Hello! What an amazing and very detailed review, We loved it!!!! We treasure all our customers feedbacks including yours and makes us aware of what we can do better.... We are happy and thankful for spending your time with us... We hope to see you again soon! Thanks again!

Three of us had a delightful dinner here recently. We were warmly welcomed and seated then promptly waited upon. The drinks were brought in short order as was our delicious food including the excellent octopus. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the sound level allowed normal conversation. The Lantern is conveniently located near City Hall and all the bus routes including the newly introduced Glider. We will be back.

A Little Gem Tucked Away In The Heart Of Botanic Avenue since 1986. we give all our efforts into putting together great quality food and homely service. join us for a memorable experience.
Visited Botanic Spice on a Friday night and were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Drinks ordered and arrived swiftly along with poppadums and dips while we chose our dishes. The mixed starter was tasty and succulent meats, accompanied by onions, peppers and a tangy mango dip. Mains also excellent, full of flavour and spice and the garlic naan dripping with garlicky butter was sinfully delicious.Looking forward to our next visit to explore more of the menu!

The Allotment Bistro serves only local fresh produce which is absolutely delicious even if i say so myself. We offer great service with a to do attitude in the restaurant and kitchen. A 5 star hygiene rating from the lovely people at the city council. Val
My husband and I chose to eat breakfast here. My husband chose the small breakfast which he said was ok. I chose the pancakes and bacon. All I can say is best not to choose the pancakes. They were soaked in some sort of grease which tasted of other fried foods. It was obvious that the pancakes had been fried alongside other foods. The bacon had very probably been reheated and was completely dried up.There was a sparse amount of some kind of syrup on the plate which was most definitely not Maple syrup. The surroundings are dingy to say the least and I wouldn't recommend having food here. I agree with previous reviews that it is a greasy spoon cafe and I cannot see how anyone could give it positive reviews. Best to avoid in my opinionHi with all the respect. yesterday morning Tuesday 15 Oct 2019 you visit us for breakfast with your husband .I am the one who served you ( Alex ) you ordered coffee and tea, pancake stack and a small fry. I alex asked you was everything ok with your food you said very clear yes thank you and you ate everything on the plate.I would understand if you had complained yesterday about the food but you did not.The way you described the situation no one will pay for food what they don't eat or like. Our syrup is 100 percent maple syrup flavour, our bacon is cooked fresh every day . we do not reheat food.I feel it is very unfair you put up a review like this and all our food is cooked separate as we have alot of our customers that have allergies. we definitely use maple flavour syrup, and Thick cut Unsmoked Thick Cut Bacon.
