When we come back to Michigan, we always make Olympic our first meal. This time, it was Coneys and salad for dinner. Came back the next morning for breakfast. Good service and awesome coney dogs. They also serve Blazos famous pies but we opt for the rice pudding.

We looked forward to having this new restaurant in the area and were anxious to try it, but I have absolutely no reason to return. GOOD:“Greek” bread, baked potato, husband’s chicken shawarma wrap, nice waitress BAD:Everything else!! (see photos)Waitress clearly had very little training or very poor training, or a combination of both. I don’t think I asked her a single question that she was able to answer without asking the manager. The manager seated us at a dirty table – – crumbs and a wet ring from a glass. The special that I was interested in was the exact same (regular) price on the menu. I asked the waitress why is was a special - did it come with anything extra? She didn’t know.I asked what kind of lettuce they use in the dinner salad. The waitress didn’t know. I asked if the French dressing is red or orange and she didn’t know. I asked with the rosa marina soup is... The waitress said she didn’t really know but “it has some vegetables and noodles in it”. I was served received an inedible core piece of lettuce and several pieces of lettuce with brown spots. My meatloaf appeared to be lamb gyros and it was overcooked and dry. “Meatloaf” was served with items straight out of a dab: corn (swimming in liquid) and gravy. Meatloaf and corn were cold so I asked to have them heated up. The meatloaf was then warmer (not hot) but the corn was colder. I asked to have the corn heated again and it made it to barely warm...I didn’t receive the bread that was supposed to come with my order so I asked for it. The waitress didn’t know my dinner - like every one on the page - was served with bread. (It was advertised as “greek bread”, which to me meant a pita, but I was given plain, white bread.)I was going to finish eating my cold corn and drink my water, but they started mopping the floor near us with an overpowering bleach solution, so we had to leave. The manager asked how everything was - I explained how poor my food was and said we had to leave because they were mopping with a strong bleach solution right by our table. She looked totally unconcerned, said “oh”, then charged us full price. She didn’t address or apologize for anything. A good manager would have had the person stop mopping with bleach 4’ from customers who were still trying to eat and offered some compensation for the poor, cold food. I said I wanted to use Apple Pay and the manager didn’t even know that they accepted it. I then had to explain to her how it works: press F2, enter the sale amount, and hit the green button. Honestly – Apple Pay has been around for 4 years and this information is available online - that’s how I learned it (and I’m not a restaurant manager!).

Not totally bad, but certainly not good. There are far better diners and Coney Islands nearby. Eggs are rubbery and toast is cold. Wait service is nice but they have to serve below average food.
