Serving the Best in Greek Food!
This is a tremendous place. Fresh, delicious food in a comfortable, casual and welcoming space. We loved the Greek meatballs as an appetizer. For entrees, the moussaka was among the best we've had, and the lamb chops and pork chops were outstanding. Greek salad also delicious, but we had more than we needed because it also came with most of the entrees. Note that they have no liquor license, but BYOB is allowed, so pick up some wine on your way.Thank you for taking the time to write a review, we are always happy to hear feedback & are looking forward to having you back!

My wife had been to Sparta Taverna, but yesterday was my first time. We went to there River Vale location - they have others in Ridgefield Park and Wood Ridge. Everything is made on the premises and the pita bread is to die for. I had a gyro wrap - delicious and easiiy transportable...god for a quick lunch on the go. My wife got a dish that is ;listed as an appetizer, but is a very full platter for one person. It featured several of their specialties, including chicken, gyro meat, felafel, keftedes and very good tzatziki dip. It is a nice appetizer for three or four at a table. There was an error in our original order. It was quickly corrected with sincere apologies...as should be done in all businesses when mistakes happen (as they will). We chatted with folks at a nearby table. The wife had a recent broken knee and wanted to come here to escape the house and to enjoy time out with good food...a high recommendation. This is typical of the friendly atmosphere at Sparta.Hey there! Thank you for taking the time to review us. It is a pleasure to hear that our team responded in a timely fashion to the error. Mistakes do happen (well at least until computers take over the world), but the important thing is to address them always. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you and your wife. We hope to see you back soon.

I dined with my husband one busy day and the restaurant was packed. Most of the customers are in the retirement age, and fascinating to observe these people. The restaurant is small but homey and super clean (including their counter and kitchen). We were greeted with a server but never led us to our table. We were asked though for how many persons but left us to choose which table to use. We were given the menu but did not explain their specials (it's our first time to dine here). They gave a complimentary appetizer, and I had chicken and my husband fish. It wasn't as tasty as I was expecting (I had a kebab a day before from another restaurant and they were better than I had here). The chicken was chewy and the vegetable was burned. The fish was bland, nothing greeky. We had tasted better food than these folks.Maybe we ordered the wrong food, I don't know. We won't go back.

Came here twice so far. Once with neighbors and last time with boss. Fabulous place. Eat in or out. Always busy. Sometimes long line to get in. Depending on how far your willing to walk. You canât skip the âlooking for parking on the Blvdâ and walk there. Great great food!
