We visited on a Thursday evening and had the restaurant to ourselves - amazing considering how busy it is at weekends and how wonderful the food was. There is a good choice of dishes, meat, fish and vegetarian, and everything is home made and fresh. We had the mini meze and torpedo prawns to start, followed by stifado and lemon and garlic chicken. Everything was really tasty and authentically Greek. The coffee was lovely and so was the baklava. We shall definitely return!

Nimatt's Bar Meze in St Albans serves the native cuisine of Cyprus - the historic meeting place of Europe and Asia. The dishes have Greek, Ottoman and Arabic influences resulting in a unique blend. The company motto "Eat, Drink, Share" pays reference to t
First visit but definitely not the last. Service was fab, manager was very attentive and made everyone feel welcome which doesnât often happen anymore. Savoury Food was very good, but unfortunately the banoffee was horrible. The tables were too close together, felt like we were sharing with the couple next to us and had people brushing on our table to get through. It was extremely busy so no surprise they squeezed in as many tables as possible, but this knocks a star off the experience.

Went to Souvlaki City whilst in St Albans whilst visiting friends 26th July 2019.I've been to a couple of Greek restaurants in the UK as well as visiting several Greek islands. I'm a big fan of Greek food & hospitality. Souvlaki city is just awesome. The food / drink & service was just fantastic.Quite a small restaurant / cafe bar so booking advisable but everything is just so good.Being a vegetarian the menu is quite vast. Personally I had the hummus to start followed by the vegetarian mousakka & baklava for dessert all washed down with 3 bottles of authentic Greek Retsina between 2 of us!!!I will DEFINITELY book here again when we visit St Albans again in a few months time.

Normally always excellent. Ingredients were fresh but something was different. The chips didnât taste the same as the normal amazing ones and the chicken was as if it had been fried not grilled, which I strongly suspect was a mixture of fry and grill to get it cooked quicker. Huge disappointment, due to past experiences (high standard) I will give it one more try. You can read this as a positive review and constructive. When your customer tells you the standard slipped its easier to arrest then when they let the feet talk and go somewhere else.
