ate here twice which is very unusual for us the first occasion it turned cold and the staff brought out a patio heater and gave out blankets which was a nice touchthe food and service was excellent and I would really eat here again if the ever go to Spetses again :-)

A wonderful terrace very close to the center by the sea.Good variety of dishes.Appetizers like chicken wings, chaloumi Tec.Main dishes with specialty on burgers.Big portions, very good quality and taste.The service is not very quick but it is kind.The prices are normal for Spetses but expensive for other cities.

The Bouboulina Restaurant near Spetses main port in one of my favourite on the island.Although it is in the heart of the most touristic area, the atmosphere is very authentic.Food is very good and super affordable.Staff is very efficient.

The restaurant is located in an excellent location. Just on the old harbor of Spetses. The atmosphere is nice in a small pier on the sea.This is not your average taverna but is a white table cloth restaurant. On the minus side the food is average or below. the dish presentation is not accompanied by the same nice taste. Most of the dishes seem to be made a bit salty and the tastes are not mixed as nice. Also despite claiming (and charging) fresh ingredient the result is not matching this.

Title says it all. Pita Gyros for less then 3 euro. Good quality and fast service. Perfect located at the Harbour and best place for a quick lunch or snack before moving to the ferry

It was a rainy night so not the best for eating on the waterfront. We were, however, dry and warm. The service was superb. We started by sharing their signature Mourayo salad - - greens, cherry tomatoes, grapes and two large discs of goat cheese with slivered almonds, all with a light strawberry vinaigrette. For our main course, one of us had mussel risotto in a light tomato sauce; the other had fish fillet a la spestiota - - a delicious white fish fillet baked in a fresh tomato sauce (an island specialty) with new roasted potatoes. Both were outstanding! Wine by the glass was limited to one Greek white wine.

After reading the reviews we thought this would be the ideal restaurant for the first night of our 3 week Island hopping trip. It was the most disappointing meal of the lot especially in terms of value for money. The setting looks fantastic on the verandah of the beautiful Poseidon Hotel, however, the square in front of the hotel is also the playground for children in the evening. In Greece you expect this and it is part of the charm but whilst ok for a traditional taverna, it is not ideal when you market yourself as a fine dining restaurant. The quality of the food for the price was paid was poor and whilst the meal was edible it was stodgy and underwhelming.Dear Whatfordregans, Thank you for sharing your impressions of your recent visit to On The Verandah. I would like to point out that the historic Poseidonion Grand Hotel has enjoyed an emblematic presence on the island of Spetses in the main Poseidonion Square since 1914. It is precisely this location which has enabled it to play a central part in the island life while retaining its majestic ambience. Bearing this in mind, it is beyond our control who uses the public square and we do not see it as something which is detrimental to the dining experience. As for your comments on your dinner, may I point out that we focus on serving traditional Greek dishes in a bistronomy style and setting and our prices are competitively based in accordance with current costing of other equivalent dining venues. Lovely place. Finding a table next to the seafront can be challenging but the food will reward you nomatter where you 'll sit. Plenty of options of fresh fish. We had the boiled octopus and the fries red mullets (μαÏμÏÎ¿Ï Î½Î¹Î±). The grilled octopus dish also looks great. The house wine is ok but there are so many better options on the menu, I would pick a bottle of greek asyrtiko/athiri/malagouzia. Service is quick and efficient. If you sit in the small garden across the street expect a few cats to harass you for leftovers but I personally didn't mind at all. Would visit again if we stayed a few days longer!

The waitress speaks German as she had lived there. The dishes were explained in detail and also whether the seafood is fresh or frozen.We had Anchovies marinated on bread, Sardine filets grilled in butterfly style (not seen at other restaurants) and one calamar for 2 persons. Nice and plain preparation of the food. Everything tasted very well. The white house wine (Chardonnay type) also tasted very well (dry). Whole bottle for EUR 7,00 only. At the end we became a fuit platter from the house.We were surprised about the total price of the meal - for this quality!Definitely we will come back.
