A lovely beach taverna. Friendly staff serving good food and drinks at reasonable prices. Outdoor tables under the shade of olive trees with some indoor seating. Excellent toilets, exceptionally clean. Free sunbeds/umbrellas for customers, plus a shower. Wonderful place to spend a day.

The dishes offered in this tavern are a successful aromatic blend of gourmet cuisine and traditional cretan plates. The owners, Kanakis and his wife, are true examples of cretan hospitality.The menu is not standard, you are shown all available dishes of the day through the kitchen and take your pick. Their specialty is goat stew which is delicious, full of aromas and remarkably light. Prices are reasonable. At the end they offer very tasty raki and an unbelievably delicious chocolate cake. If I stayed longer, I'd definitely visit again.

Obwohl ganz neue Taverne mit modernen Ambiente, ist es hier noch so, wie es sein soll. Der Chef kocht mehrere Speisen täglich frisch (empfehlenswert: Arni kokino). Er kümmert sich auch persönlich um den Käse, das Olivenöl und die Lämmer. Die Dolmades kommen von der Oma, und sind für uns die Besten von Kreta.Die Küche der Taverne (Sifis hatte bis vor drei Jahren eine andere Taverne, 500m entfernt, gepachtet) ist einer der Gründe, warum wir immer wieder nach Frangokastello kommen!
