Jaaks is tucked away on the water's edge in the quiet streets of Kyle Bay. Plenty of level, easily accessed parking.We had dinner at Jaaks recently and on the whole had a pleasant experience. Service was patient, confident, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and its preparation.The tables were spaced nicely, some with nice views over the bay. It is pitched as a more up market restaurant with its decor, menu and seating arrangement and it succeeds. The menu items are designed as share plates.We had the scallops, (quite small but delicious), freshly baked bread with olives, (its more like a bun than a loaf, but again delicious, as were the olives), haloumi ( hard to go wrong with haloumi), sheftalies, ( very tasty ), lamb pie (delicious) and spanakorizo which I think is an acquired taste. If you don't like duck eggs, and it is very eggy, avoid this dish. Nobody at our table liked it particularly. Not everything works but that's Ok we like to give things a try.Jaaks is not cheap, given the servings are not large, so I don't think it is great value in that regard, but the menu is by and large well designed and executed very well and of high quality.

We came to this restaurant on Fathers Day. The food was not too bad , the atmosphere pleasant. Interestingly, there were minimal seafood items on the menu- baby calamari , octopus and salt cod. Considering afew of our guests didnât eat meat we were hoping to order calamari. We were told by the waitress that they âran outâ of calamari last night. She even went to confirm this with the chefs.Disappointed, we ordered alternate menu items. What was more disappointing was just as we were finishing our meal, we noticed the table next to us brimming with plates of calamari!!Dumbfounded, we mentioned it to the manager as we were leaving , and she apologised . Not sure what to make of this debarcle.

I love how Stars has a twist in Greek food for a refreshing change but still offering the traditional food you crave for. Came as a couple and shared a couple entrees and then shared lamb kleftiko (slow cooked lamb) and lentil salad with pomegranate. Servers always friendly and fast service. Goes nicely with an ouzo. Lovey view to go with the location.

Being Greek always makes it challenging to comment on supposedly authentic Greek restaurants but this place is seriously good... Super friendly service, lovely fresh food, great value prices (compared to many) and as close to a traditional Greek taverna experience as you'll find in Sydney... Highly recommended!

Great restaurant. The food was incredible. 9 in our party and everyone loved their meal from entrée to desert. Loved the finishing touch of complimentary chocolate coated strawberries. Service was great, staff friendly and professional. Atmosphere and surroundings very relaxing. Great looking out over the bay to lights of distant foreshore. All the ladies were presented with a single red rose. Definitely go back.

If you are looking for nice Italian food, this is the place to go to. Good variety on the menu to suits anyone. Food portion is generous and nicely presented. If you are a small eater, entrée size is just nice. Excellent service staff. Very comfortable place to chill out on a Saturday night with family.

My wife and I shared the octopus, calamari and Halloumi dishes. The meal was well presented, good size serves and really tasty. Pricing was reasonable. Staff were friendly and the view was great. My only constructive feedback was the level of noice at lunchtime. But if the food, service and pricing is good, you have to expect a lot of customers!

Attended a Christmas party here back in December. Had low expectations re gluten free options but was pleasantly surprised about the range and quantity supplied given this was a set menu, (although I did have to ask specifically which dishes WERE gf and staff appear somewhat abrupt but are actually very caring - I think this is probably a cultural thing).Also I've seen some other reviews saying not good value for money but (and perhaps this was because we had a set menu with so many people) I felt that for what you paid the quality and quantity (huge portions) was excellent.

My wife & two friends ate here on Saturday night. Staff are great and very obliging. This this restaurant has a great atmosphere but unfortunately thatâs where it stopsThe Entrees were served fairly quickly and were very enjoyable. The main meals took more than an hour to be served and when served the souvlaki was burnt & the pork was cold. When we complain to the waiter about the condition of the food the waiter went to the kitchen and return shortly with four lamb cutlets which were burnt on the outside and still raw on the inside. I doubt for the price that we paid which was fairly expensive that I would return to the place again.

One of my favourites for Frappe and Bougatsa (warm custard pie). The best and freshest pastries you can get in Sydney. Also serve a few traditional Greek dishes for lunch but the desserts are heavenly. Oreo tsoureki and so many other delicacies. Can get busy and quite noisy but the atmosphere is buzzing!!
