Find out what Greek restaurants to try in Kissamos. Kissamos (Greek: Κίσσαμος) is a town and municipality, multiple (former) bishopric and Latin titular see in the west of the island of Crete, Greece. It is part of the Chania regional unit and of the former Kissamos Province which covers the northwest corner of the island. It is now a port and fishing harbour, with a regular ferry from the Peloponnese via Kythira. A town museum is located in the old Venetian governor's palace and there have been important archaeological finds in the town, including fine mosaics, dating from the Roman city of Kisamos (Κίσαμος, Latinized as Cisamus). The head town of the municipality (Δήμος Κισσάμου) is Kastelli-Kissamos itself.

Welcome to the '' Plaka '' In a flowery corner on the beach with breathtaking views of the bay of Kissamos, to be enjoyed by the great sea: your swiming, your food, your coffee, your drink... All our meat and fish produce is fresh and from local producers
Overlooking beach but set back a bit so a little sheltered. Nice and friendly staff. Not so keen on widescreen tv which I find a bit distracting but can't fault the food or service. The fish is fresh and changes each day according to catch. We went back for a second visit (luckily no tv the second time).

We went there twice already, great fish, good meat, big portions; try the zucchini flowers as a starter at all costs; and a great view directly looking at the sea. Very friendly staff makes good recommendations. Some cats running around hoping for food, but somehow well trained to only mew once and then go away :)

Quiet restaurant at night with the best fresh fish of Crete. The family that owns the restaurant are friendly and helpful. The son during our dinner plays buzuki and his dad sang traditional songs was really romantic. The grilled fish was fresh and delicious. Relaxing sound of the waves due to it’s next to the sea. Thanks for everything we will come back again.

Tradition is difficult to preserve in our days. However, Maracaibo restaurant is one of the few restaurant in Crete that has managed to remain intact to traditions. Our restaurant does not have a fixed menu. Why is that, though? In order to keep our tradi
Ate here last night and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service and food was excellent. They were very very busy but didn’t rush us at all. Booking is probably a good idea. Mrs half Ear is quite the character and her and her husband should be proud of their wonderful restaurant. Don’t be put off that it is a little off the beaten track it is just off the main road and you can’t miss it. We will be back soon.Thank you very much for your nice words. We are very busy during mid-August because of local festivals and tourism. It's always good to call and book a table in case you want to be sure you'll find your spot. We are looking forward to seeing you again :)

We stopped on the way back towards Kissamos after spotting the place in the morning on the way to the beach and we couldn’t have made a better stop. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Very funny, and extremely friendly and welcoming. Savas (I’m assuming the owner or at least manager) is one helluva character - in the best possible way. He and my boyfriend sat down and sang Greek songs at one point over a glass of raki. We both had the fish of the day and it was absolutely excellent - and big. And the vegetables with it and the tzatziki with warm bread, oil and olives was the best I had in the 10 days we’ve been here. Just a little sad we’re leaving tomorrow or I would have gone back for dinner. (And it’s not expensive, we paid €40 for starter, amazing mains, fruit, two beers and a large bottle of water - worth every penny and then some).

Cretan traditional food tha is cooked only with olive oil that oyr family makes
Visting after some years. Some staff still remain, that's nice. The restaurant salad had a very good taste, experimental ingredients that brought variation to the simple Cretan salad. The main course nor so inspiring: lamb chops with fries perhaps too dry, filled peppers not fascinating. Felt like after-high season visit, not anymore attention to details.Price was fine.

This small restaurant is run by a young couple, Irene serving and her husband cooking. They are really good at what they do, everything we ate was delicious and really genuine (some dishes are their grandmother's recipe). The owners are very nice and want to make you feel like at home. You will do. Portions are generous and price is good. Highly recommended!

A small traditional restaurant on the road to Elafonisi, family run place, very calm and familiar atmosphere. The food is the most authentic Cretan one so far, and I'm really picky. Price is cheap.Come to try it out.
