The Carmel (Haifa) Choir is currently at the Choir festival in Kalamata. As a group we had a light lunch here today. Everybody enjoyed the food they ordered: salads, roasted sardines, eggplant salad, etc. The restaurant sits facing the marina and if you have a sunny day like we did it is a most enjoyable experience. The service was very efficient and pleasant. Best of all was the wonderful food the chef prepared in a reasonably short time.

If something that bothers a good reviewer is where to eat. My instict drove me in this wonderful ouzeri taverna. Local people sat there... Under the oak tree you can eat humble and tastefull plates. The pork in the oven, the aubergines, the cold beer and delicious potatoe chips excell in a place which is a hidden jem. Leave your hotel and explore the greek Cousine which is more than souvlaki and mousakas. Friendly staff and low prices. Clean and friendly tavern not overcrowded. You have to taste their cuisine.

Trying to be a bistrot.Louder music with fine casual kitchen.
Having discovered this gem 2 years ago, ventured back and not disappointed. Husband had the NY strip steak on both occasions (and the chips were fab..) and I shocked myself by having the hot chocolate mousse pudding - indulgent but heavenly. The wine we had - think house white - was the best on our entire trip. Very friendly staff and great music. Will def return

Itâs inside the Elite Resort and you can use the parking lot of the hotel. Better to use Elite Resort to locate the place in Google or Apple maps, and not the real address. It was not crowded, although I booked in advance. The service was really good and the food very tasty. They have an interesting wine menu too.

A great spot to stop for a quick, easy & delicious 'fast food' meal. Situated opposite one of Kalamata's oldest chapels in a pedestrianised square outside of the reach of commuting traffic & noise. It's a very popular, family run business in a very small unit - so it's not open all day. A must whilst visiting Kalamata.

Came here with my husband for dinner last week during our stay at Kalamata. Had a reservation. NIce table outside, friendly and attentive staff. Had beetroot salad (their speciality) and chicken gyros. Presentation was excellent, however, I felt that the dish was not well balanced at all. The salad consisted of about 17 pieces of beetroot, 3 very thin slices of apple, crushed wallnut, a lot of balsamico and a yougurt sauce. All I could feel was the beetroot and A LOT of balsamico.Other ingredients did not add any taste to the dish.Chicken gyros - again, very nice presentation, delicious bread and sauce, however, a lot of VERY SALTED chicken (chicken itself was very tender and tasty), however, again, it was VERY salty. The bill was 30 euros for 2 without wine. I feel that the meal did not live up to our expectations.

Enjoyed a great dinner last night at Argoâs. Great food (recommend the âCalveâ steak (veal) and the sardines). Including the chilled dry house Rosé we paid â¬29. Tasted the regional olive oil - and wow! Were able to get 4 litres @ 15â¬! Gregory did a splendid job!We certainly will visit again.

Found it when walking in Kalamata and it was a great surprise because we saw the reviews after being there. They have a nice terrace, itâs full of local people and the waiters speak good english. If you want to try real greek food (pita, greek salad,...), very tasty and for a good price, this is a great place.
