Thrakiotissa is a true Greek traditional restaurant !t can sit 200+ but it is mostly known for its "mageirefta" food meaning pot and oven cooked dishes. It really has almost everything one can desire for a sit-down or take away (most popular with the customers) dinner! Reason being most of the professionals and servicemen prefer this restaurant for take away after work.It has very nice fresh salads and vegan dishes and since it is family owned, it is ideal for families. Some of the dishes include home-made style 'pastitsio" (Greek dish with pasta and beshamel sauce) Linguini, fettuccini, cannelloni all cooked with Mediterranean sauces with a wide variety of pasta dishes. Vegan dishes such as spinach-rice and really good bean dishes, including white beans cooked with fresh parsley and onions. It also has a variety of calamari dishes fro the seafood fans but my favorite dishes are the ones cooked in a pot with local ingredients! They even serve dishes in a crock pot directly from the oven!! Don't forget the impressive "trahanas" dishes which are made with flour, eggs and barley and the come in vegan, hot and veggie varieties. The most impressive thing? They actually make all their pastas and "trahanas" from scratch and you can even buy them to cook at home-sold under their brand! They also sell hand made "fillo" dough in case one wants to bake at home...

We went on recomendation from a friend. Fantastic location for Sunday family lunch. The meat was very well cooked and tasty. Any time we are on the area we will visit.

We had a lovely dinner here, with lots of the small dishes from the menu and (ofcourse) we had a tsiporou to drink. The food was exceptionelly tasty and the staff very friendly. The place is very cosy and situated very close to the old mosque in the middle of the city centre.
