We go here every time we are in Platanias/Agia Marina.Great Italian food. Best carbonara in the world according to my daughter. Their Frutti di Mare Pasta is also great. Friendly staff, although a bit inattentive at the time we were there. Only minus is that their is no playground for children.

We were here several evenings during our stay in the village recently. The food is lovely. The real Greece. The red wine is very moreish and made locally. No headaches the day after! Bianca works so hard taking orders, serving meals, moving tables and making sure everyone is happy. Never seen a person do so many things at once and still have time to talk and smile!I want to live close by!We will be back next year.

We visited Nikos tavern on a not so busy night and found the place quite & peaceful. Away from the night life of beaches in Chania. The host was really nice and the food also tasted brilliant. We had greek salad, chicken fillet and lamb dish. All were really nice.It is not a fancy place. More of a family run business in a small town square. If you want the feel of home cooked greek food. Give Nikos a try.Would have given 5 stars if all the items in the menu where available.

We were staying at the hotel next door and popped in here several times for lunch during our stay. Pork pitta gyros was perfect for lunch and at â¬2.50 whatâs not to like?! Kids loved it too. Didnât eat here of an evening but canât see why food should be any different. Friendly staff, good food, fast service .. perfect.
This establishment has one really good advertisement, this is where many of the locals congregate to eat especially in the late evening, which can give the whole place an uplift. During the day many of the local workers come and get their quick takeaway snacks here or if they have time will sit and spend a leisurely hour or two over lunch. As always we recommend you try the gyros because each taverna has its own particular way of doing them and this is much better than many which are closer to the beach. Order them with a cretan salad and a greek coffee 1 sugar and it seems that you plate is piled slightly higher in which case if eating in give yourself a little bit more time
