The best octopus this side of Greece. The calamari is not bad either. Lemon potatoes as a side are a great compliment. The fried potatoes were not as appreciated.

If we have time for only one restaurant in NYC, this is the place! All of the classic dishes are here with huge servings and quick service. The warm galaktoboureko at the end of the meal assures a return trip soon. TIP: They offer valet parking!

Greek seafood restaurant, 718-626-3200
Before I went to this place, I read all the reviews and they were all great for the exception of one which said the kitchen isn't clean because the client went and both times there was hair in the food. I still decided to go and check it out. The service was excellent, but 3 out of the 6 dishes had hair in it. Needless to say I would not go back to it and believe the kitchen isn't clean. Its sad because the place is really cute and service was great and food was good, BUT.....its unacceptable !!!!! I hope the owner reads this review and seriously cleans up and makes the chefs wear something on their head as I am sure is required.

Trip Advisor reviews brought us here. We have eaten in Astoria over the years. Bahari is by far the most authentic of all the greek places we have tried. Dress was street casual. There was no wait Saturday 5:30 pm. The waitress brought bread and water promptly. I ordered a house roseâ that was light and crisp. We shared a Greek salad, and a plate of the traditional dips. They were delicious. My husband had the grilled squid with potatoes. He said it was done perfectly. Another waiter explained to him that the squid is thicker than the one they make fried calamari with. I tried the stuffed cabbage in a lemon sauce,a first for me, it was clean tasting definitely made with good quality meat and a side of string beans. Iâm not greek but I have to think this is an authentic dish. Dessert was on the house. Nice friendly atmosphere. The only negative is the sound is very loud and itâs hard to hear each other. We will return. The prices are reasonable for such well prepared food.
