El Greco is a medium size restaurant right on the main boulevard in Appenweier, which is a convenient town to hop off and go to Strasbourg, for example. The DB Reggio train runs from Konstanz to Karlsruhe with Appenweier being 2 hours out of Konstanz. El Greco's food is traditional Greek and is quickly served. At lunch hour they are not particularly busy so that's a good time to try it out.

We were welcomed with a pleasant smile. Effort was made to understand the dietary requirements. We were assured that the chef is able to prepare the food accordingly. The service was good. The food portions were generous, well cooked and tasty. Great eating experience even though we required gluten free food. Will go again, and recommend for coeliacs.

On our way back from France, we decided to enjoy a lovely dinner together. We stop here and it was good. The staff was on the spot with greeting us and was always attentive to our needs. The place was abuzz with patrons, jovial and lively atmosphere. We had to start with fried cheese which was quite tasty. The main course was a mix of bifteki and gyro meat. The tzaziki sauce was perfect! We had the house wine which was a good accompaniment to the dinner. We finished our meal with a greek desert, a type of custard pie, but not a custard, it was a little bit of Greece that you would enjoy.
