Things to do in Anafi
This is a special place! Itâs were the Anafi tribes meet. The young groups of the island campers with middle aged perment visitors and the Europeans wonderers. Even the accidental tourists. The food is close as it gets to homemade mummy food(with a twist of falafel). It has sweets, but you can just seep your rakomelo and wach the crowds walk up and down. Possibly somebody from the next table will start singing. And the two families that run the place will welcome you with a big smile.

Family-like cooking at Astrachan. The big lady welcomes you and describes the menu in a nice mix of greek and english. Dishes are good, mostly meat-based and very basic. Still tasteful and interesting, but compared with other places in Anafi...
I saw the sign for rooster on the menu. We really wanted to try it, and we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted and invited into their kitchen to see what authentic Aegean Food was on the menu for that day. Not only did we LOVE the rooster, we had stuffed Calamari, a fantastic fish dish in a tomato casserole, and roasted vegetarian chick peas. This lunch meal was one of our favorites on our 14 day stay throughout Greece. The staff took such great care in serving us, providing the best of what they had to represent true Aegean food. If you want to avoid the American hot dog, pizza and burger, let yourself in and enjoy the true culture of the island!

Cyclades traditional cuisine with aegean view!!!
I visited young student 30 years ago. Then I went for the beautiful vew and remember nothing about the food. But this time food counts a lot at Margarita. Her meatballs reminded us of our motherâs ones, the salads were intriguing but the fresh fish needed a standing ovation. And donât forget the vew over Kleisidi beach.

Armenaki is a part of a network called Aegean Cuisine. Different restaurants around the Aegean using ingredients of the their islands and trying to emphasize on local cuisine. With a twist. Armenakis signature dish is tuna mousakas! It has a terrific swordfish fillet and pasta with tuna. We went a bit early and avoided the live music.

A traditional cafe-restaurant with amazing view in the aegean.
Beware of the danger! If you see that the Greek taverna serves mousaka and tzatziki and a extensive menu, plays bouzouki music and tries to resemble Mamma Mia scenery leave as fast you can. Tholos is just the opposite. Owned by two young Greeks, it plays good music, has a great view and the food is really close the authentic food people eat everyday in these country. They don't use microwave so they can't have a lot of main dishes. The eggplants were superb, the veal was excellent, even the bread was good.I love that they serve cafe from Chiapas!

Mediocre food, unpleasant service, basic greek dishes served without a single word or smile, they do have a nice balcony seating with a great view, which is the best thing in this restaurant
