Situated a block from the wine bridge in the shopping district the Sternbaeck is a straight up traditional German restaurant and bar. Plenty of outdoor seating is available. Their schnapps selection is not extensive but more than adequate. Its a classic hangout where the locals also hang out. And so do I every time I head to Wurzburg

The staff was remarkably alert, attentive and very polite, even with a couple of large groups inside. We chose to sit outside on the terrace overlooking the Old Main Bridge with the Marienberg Fortress and Käppele Sanctuary in the backdrop. The view was amazing and our dinner was very tasty and arrived quicker than expected. I chose the Schäufele which was prepared perfectly. All I needed was my fork to eat, as the meat was cooked perfectly. The slightly crusted outer skin pealed back easily to access the tasty pork. Finished off with a nice dry Müller-Thurgau wine. The second meal we ordered was the house salad which was a large size and filled with various types of lettuce. We were so pleased we stopped. We actually spent close to three hours there because it was so beautiful.

With its idyllic location next to the river Main the Brauerei-Gasthof Alter Kranen has already a gorgeous setting. But if you let your eyes wander around, you can enjoy a postcard panorama view with the Alte Mainbrücke, Käppele and the fortress. Try a fre
As we were dining on a Sunday night the whole town was crowded and the restaurant was no different. We managed to get a table where we had bratwurst sausages with sauerkraut and grilled fish, washed down with a local Riesling. We walked back to the hotel through the beer garden alongside the river, which was quite attractive and I expect would be very busy in summer.

We had dinner at the Weinstuben Juliusspital and enjoyed the food, the wine and the setting. We chose to sit inside on a cool night, although a very pleasant outside verandah is also available. The service was efficient and helpful. An English language menu was provided. There is a good range of dishes available. We skipped the entree and went straight to the main. My wife had an excellent wiener schnitzel, and I had a delicious bratwurst with sauerkraut. Both meals served in good sized portions. There is no beer served - only wine. Our Rose (served by the glass) was very good.Costs are quite moderate. Mains around $20 Euro Would be happy to return.

This is an old hospital changed into a restaurant. It is welcoming. Donât let the small entrance fool you there is plenty of room. The food was average for the price but still very tasty. It was a good place to eat but most likely a place I will have forgotten in a year or so.

Had the wurst and pommes frites and sure wasn't disappointed. Great service from a nice waitress even though the place was very busy. Food came out pretty quick and was excellent. Always try the local wurst specialties as we travel thru Germany. Would go back again and don't hesitate in recommending the place for a good meal

Very busy place and booking is strongly recommended - though if 8pm or later is ok then you shouldn't have too much trouble. Entering through a huge heavy door is dramatic and the sight that greets you is wunderbar. Cosy, noisy, bustle, great lighting, interesting spaces - it's impressive. Walk across the first space and up a few steps to find the maitre d who was very efficient with the enormous reservations list - alles in ordnung hier!Good food, very reasonably priced and mostly locals enjoying themselves. What more could you want? Christopher Thum

Maybe! My husband and I have been debating this, and I think it is. Fresh, flavorful, simple and so, so cheap. Why but grab one, sit on the square and people watch? (We actually shared one so we could also sample a healthier choice, a salad from a nearby spot, following!)

The pulse of Franconia beats in the heart of Wuerzburg. You can feel it ? Or rather taste it - in the historic surroundings of the Stachel, which is a restaurant and wine bar. As a wine bar, the Stachel offers the best wines in Franconia. There is wine ta
I am still dreaming of the wine soup and can't wait to return to Wurzburg to have it again! This place was worth the wait - we arrived without a reservation and had to return a half hour late. The staff were very pleasant the ambiance was wonderful in this old historic building. Great selection of local wines as well.

This small restaurant feels like entering a different dimension and time, quirky and arty, they don't have a printed list, but a passionate and competent friendly guy who speaks good english, guiding you through the dishes of the day and recommending wines to suit your taste and the choice of food you made. Food and wine were delicious, we also bought a bottle of the wine I had to take home. Reasonable prices for the quality.Long ago! But thank you very much! Hope we See use sometime again! You Tiopolinos!
