We used to visit this wonderful location regularly in summer but recently we have been disappointed- the portions are small and everything - potatoes, salad, rice, bread are all considered âextrasâ ....the location of course is unbeatable but as is often the case these places change for the worst and take advantage only of the location. I recommend it for the views but not if you are hungry.........shame.......

Despite the fact that this restaurant is part of a hotel, the food here is excellent and the setting in the outdoor courtyard eating area is picture-perfect. The apricot sparkling wine is crisp and refreshing. the cucumber soup is cool, refreshing, and delicious and hit the spot on the hot day. The homemade dumplings with spinach in mushroom sauce is excellent. For dessert try the apricot sorbet with frizzante, which was amazing. I highly recommend this place for great food, great service, and a beautiful outdoor setting.
Where to eat Austrian food in Weissenkirchen: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Nice family b&b. The rooms were tidy and very clean. The typical Austrian style cached our attention. The restaurant was not operated by time we were there but we had nice wine tasting.Alexandra served us with very good breackfast. The warm bread was served every morning. We have tasted the local smocked meet and sausages, eggs, even the coffee was perfect. We felt ourselves like at home.

We visited the Wachau region for cycling, and we stopped over Spitz getting on the boat. While waiting for the boat, we had a late lunch at this Heuriger as recommended by my outdoor friend. It's open only after 3pm. It's located after a small hill from the town center of Spitz, and you find it in the middle of vineyards. From the terrace, you can see the Hinterhaus over the vineyard. The food was good. My friends had a Knodel soup, and sausages/sauerkraut with different types of bread. The owner and waiters were very kind, and the restaurant is clean including bathrooms. The price was also great. We will definitely go back if I have a chance to visit this town again.
