I almost gave 4 points because the most restaurants in Reit im Winkl are not good and offer too many different dishes! (Unfiortunately, we had no chance to go to "Dorf Stadl" where the food is probably very good!) The staff was friendly and recommended some day specials, whereof I chose the pumpkin soup as starter. It was very tasty with curry and coconut milk and fine pumpkin seed oil on top. As main dish I chose a pizza which was made in the italian way what I liked. A more soft and thin pizza base.My girlfriend chose Teufelsfleisch. The beef stripes were really medium as ordered and the potatoes and sauce were tasty. The recommanded wines were good.Price level is cheap.Soup, 2 x 1/4 l wine, pizza, meat dish and an espresso for less than 40â¬.Some little minuses: - the menu is very messy and the English translation is honestly not good. But it was nice that they had an English menu at least :)There were many couples sitting with strangers at tables for 4 persons. I would recommand to book a table for two persons in advance!Really recommandable.

OK first, the atmosphere is so cool. You really are in an old blacksmith workshop. Nicely done. Modern but cozy and authentic. It's a bit hidden so look for it a block behind the main church.Of course the food was incredible They take great care to use quality local ingredients and prepare them exceptionally. We ordered a rib-eye steak. WOW! Perfectly prepared, perfectly tender, perfectly seasoned. As for the sides and other dishes, we had wild mushrooms, potato pancakes (rösti), smoked fennel cream, grilled vegetables, grilled goat cheese with honey and walnuts, and of course creative desserts. Everything was freshly prepared and had pure flavors. Again WOW!It's also nice that the kitchen is open, allowing a lot of interaction with the chefs who were happy to answer questions and even personally served some of the dishes.Amazing experience. Cannot wait to go back!

Festsaal was pretty empty when we visited but it really shouldn't be, the food as fantastic! Plus the service was excellent, particularly as we had a baby with us. Seems that mushrooms are a speciality, not a bad thing though, all cooked to perfection!

Great place to eat and stay. We had a huge family room/apartment. Dinner was really well cooked. Traditional Bavarian style food, full salad bar, and reasonably priced. Kids schnitzel portions were big, friendly staff and several people including owner Rudi spoke English. Great location for cycling, and walking. Near Chimsee and Salzburg

This restaurant has both, a beautiful outdoor Biergarten and a remarkable Wirtsstube. In fact, it is the oldest restaurant room in original design in Bavaria. All of that comes with a beautiful view of the Chiemgau Alps south of Lake Chiemsee. The Food is regional, solid, good and honest but not exceptional. Worth a trip.

Our hotel recommended this place and they were spot-on! The portion sizes were huge (Americans take note!) and everything we ordered was well-prepared and tasty. The service also was excellent, and don't worry if you don't speak German, there is an English menu and the staff speak English as well. As a family of four, we found the prices very reasonable. We ordered a meal-sized salad, schnitzel, and a few other dishes. Everyone was a success. The beer selection was excellent as well. This was our favorite restaurant in town. We highly recommend it.An important note: make reservations! This is a small place and quite popular.
Echt bayerisch. Super nette Bedienung (im Dirndl). Was aus der Küche kommt, hat sehr gut geschmeckt.GroÃe Tische -> Viel Kontakt.Werde sicher mal einen Umweg machen, um dort wieder reinzuschauen ...

Had an OUTSTANDING experience at Lickei. While there were multiple dining options in the town and region, I realized after the first dinner that Lickei had the perfect in-the-country setting, friendly and attentive staff and, of course, superb cuisine. Another extra -- I spoke very little German but this was turned into a positive because all the staff did their best to understand and converse in English. Steaks, pork and fish prepared in several very creative and flavorful ways. The wine selections were excellent. Chef Paul always took the time to come out and say hello. While the food is always at the heart of a restaurant, the people preparing and serving are just as important to making the restaurant a success. . Lickei scores A+.The atmosphere was extremely warm and friendly. The classic in-the-mountains dining getaway. Pleasant, nuanced local decor. Candles at every table. Priced quite reasonably.Overall a most satisfying dining experience. Hope to return sooner than later.

We have friends who live in nearby Bernau am Chiemsee and have come to this restaurant several times over many years. We are always delighted to find the service excellent and the food of a very good quality - none of your stodgy dumpling, pork in a thick sauce with indifferent red cabbage: here you can eat food which tastes as if it had just been made for you. My husband said his pork loin was the tenderest he has ever had, the Spaetzle-type pasta was superb. I had Kalbsgeschnetzeltes with a puff pastry top - it was enough for two but absolutely yummy. Good thing is that their prices are never cheeky - the slight increase over the years is perfectly justifiable.
