We had dinner here on a warm summer's evening in August. We sat in the garden as it seemed a bit hot and stuffy in the restaurant, so we had a fresh breeze, but also had to contend with the European wasps, which don't seem to bother the locals, but did annoy us. Service was polite, but very slow and if I'd been at home in Australia I probably would have left before our order was taken as it took so long. However, the food redeemed the night. We had a very good entree of prawns followed by the river fish with almond butter, which was excellent. Wines by the glass are good value, but by the bottle seem a bit overpriced.

A wonderful find. Order your fresh fish at the counter with accompaniments and drinks. You get a number to take to your table with your drinks and in a reasonable time delay, your freshly cooked fresh arrives and is served with a smile. Superb quality fresh Bodensee fish. Warning -Only does warm cooking at lunchtime until 3pm and closes at 18:30 Monday to Friday and already at 14:30 on Saturdays.

The hotel is a 10 min cab ride from the lakefront marina. Itâs location in the hills assures fantastic views of Lake Constance. The hotel staff is very helpful and its restaurants breakfast was the best of our entire months stay on the lake. So happy that we ventured off the well-traveled tourist path to stay with the wonderful Keller family at their inn! The rooms are so comfortable, the food delicious and fresh (Markus emerging from the garden with the freshest ingredients moments before we enjoyed them), home made schnapps from Grandfather's recipe, a kind ride to the train - all perfect. We will be back!

And the food is good, honest but not very special. The waiters are attentive, had overview and one of them was recognized to work also in Schapfle. That became terribly clear when we wanted to pay with one of 6 credit cards -/ bank cards. This restaurant didn't want this version to get their money:...... cash makes the world go round out there. We insisted to pay "modern" and for that we had to walk to Schapfle. And we met her owner which openly didn't want us to pay with credit card. The Maestro card an Master Cards were not functioning with their personell so that I had to go to a bank 200 m away to get bank notes. I hope this Tuesday is one time bad experience.

Excellent traditional restaurant with a twist. Fine cooking using fresh local ingredients including a good choice of game and fish. Superb friendly service witha smile. Vast array of local wines and beers. This really is a restaurant not to miss. Always busy so you must book. All the locals will know about the restaurant but beacause its off the beaten track you wont find many tourists--maybe thats a good thing!!!

Well, I cant rate the hotel in this review as I did not stay there. This is just a rating for the restaurant which is part of it.I have been here with friends and we had a great time. A great time because of friendly service, great food and a value for money wine selection which is quite different to those in Ueberlingen. All the food we had was fantastic despite the rather small menu. After trying a couple of places in the city it was surely the best food we had. I cant even rate which of the dishes was the most interesting... so if you ask me to recommend something - try the beef "Buergermeisterstueck" This is a classic dish not pretty to look at but awesome to taste. A special thanks deserves the one who created the wine menu. It was a pleasure to find such good selection of value for money wines. Even the Ripasso ( Wine of the Month) was great to my surprise. I will surely recommend the restaurant for all those who travel to Ueberlingen. We will surely come back !

I don't know why I have not written a report on this wonderful Uberlingen institution before. I have visited the restaurant many, many times!!If you want traditional German hospitality combined with excellent, cooked just for you food then this is the place. Many locals eat here, the price being very fair plus great portion sizes. The chef/owner makes fresh potato rosti and then places a variety of superb ingredients on top. Such as, Pork, Steak, Fish, Vegetables plus also offering other home made dishes.Maybe I have not reported before because I would like to keep the place all to myself - but there you go, I've done it now. Hope I can still get in!!

We actually went here because of the trip advisor reviews. They were all excellent but all in German. We only speak English. Don't expect an English menu but the owner will help you out with translation. Seemed to be full of local people. Food was fantastic and maybe of German style. In a beautiful old building. We ate outside on the street. Really enjoyed ourselves.

This restaurant is very charming and cozy with a large fireplace in the middle of the dining room. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and efficient. (All the women wear dirndls, very cute)The menu is varied with fish, meats (including some wild game), and vegetarian. The wine list is also quite extensive. We were happy with our dishes, except the steaks were a bit on the cool side. Otherwise, I would have given this restaurant an excellent. Thanks for the positive review.
