We decided to go to the rest because of the Trip Advisor reviews as we were staying at a nearby house in Muggenbrunn. A complete success. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, and the service excellent. We ordered schnitzel for the kids, I had a ragout of ox-meat and my husband had the rump steak. Menu was in English and the waitresses also spoke decent Enhlish even though we seemed to be the only non-German there. All the food was wondeful, including the apple-strudel we shared for desert. Decidedly a place we would come back to if our stay was longer.

Chef at this restaurant is the husband of the lady who runs this family guest house. They use home made sauces and genuine ingredients giving excellent flavour and taste to the food. Salad dressings, sauces used to cook meat and fish items are all very tasty. Very reasonably priced. The food can be enjoyed at their lawn with beautiful vies of the black forest mountains. Worth trying.

We visited here in conjunction with our rides on the adjacent Hasenhorn coaster. We had a simple meal of grillwurst and pommes; huge portions, well cooked and good value for money. We sat outside to eat with lovely views over the local area; no doubt this place gets extremely busy in the ski season!

Situated right in front of the city centre cathedral, this restaurant is an ideal place to enjoy your food and watch people and happenings in this small black forest town. Fodd is just above average and the service is good. We had some game deer Hirschgulasch which was really good!

I stayed a week here. I came to actually hiking in the mountains of the beautiful Black Forest. But the hotel Gruener Baum also has a small fitness room, a therm lounge where you can relax after three different types of sauna. The room was nicely cleaned up every day. What I also liked was the four-course menu where the menu had different dishes which you could choose and that gave me quite a nice feeling. Whether you come in the winter for skiing or langlaugen or in the summer for hiking. I really liked it. Adventure for a holiday I'll definitely be back

The good news are that this restaurant is open on a Monday noon during the low season in January. Friendly staff and extra wishes were fulfilled but that's it. The lunch selection was really small and the Schnitzel with French fries something not to be taken again.

We wanted to enjoy a few peaceful days in the Black Forest. The Black Forest is popular with motorcyclists and the noise near main roads can be dire! The Berggasthof Stubenwesen is far away from any major roads and the only motors to be heard were the occasional guests arriving. Our room (with shower/toilet) was clean and very adequate. The room was not particularly large - but then neither was the price of the room. The breakfast was good and fresh. The service and reception were friendly and helpful. The food is good and local. The restaurant is only open in the evening until 7pm after which there is no service. For those who prefer to eat later, there are plenty of excellent restaurants within a 10 minute drive.

I love this place. If you are visiting Andi you should definitely taste his burgers. My favorite one is Chilli Burger and it tastes like heaven. I also tried other dishes and they were good as well. Nothing wrong I could say about this place - totally worth visiting.

The restaurant is located in a very nice spot in Todtnau Berg and has a beautifull view of the surroundings from the restaurant. The building itself is lovely and appealing. Staff is friendly. We had a carpacio and trout for starters. The trout was lovely, the carpacio was porc and a bit thickly sliced. For main course we both ordered a schnitzel, which was average: the meat was a bit thick, the crust was crispy and nicely spiced, but the schnitzel was only accompanied by fries, no vegetables besides a leaf of lettuce, a baby tomato and a slice of lemon. A few days earlier we ate a schnitzel at Engels, which had a greasier crust, but did come with complimentary salad bar and was several euros cheaper. We think both restaurants are equally good a choice, with the extremely busy Engels having the better price/quality ratio. When we wanted to order desert, there was only limited choice (cheese, choices of pie, ice or the desert from the day menu). When we wanted to take a look at the choice of pie, there turned out to be none... we ended up having a tea and coffee instead, feeling a bit dissappointed.
