I have eaten at the Bauernschanke on a number of occasions. As I have only recently arrived in Germany I cannot speak German well. The staff here are so patient and take the time to understand what I am trying to say. They always greet me with a smile and remember my name, this is so appreciated, especially when its so hard to communicate and yet a smile makes everything feel fine. These days I can just walk into the Bauernschanke and say "ich habe hunger". The staff will always promptly bring me the special of the day. Oh and may I say the food is great! and enough to stuff a horse!! You never go home hungry. What I appreciate most is the sense of humour, being Australian this is very important. Someone is always there to laugh and correct your (my) very poor German. To me, the Bauernschanke is not just a fantastic place to eat but a family. So for anyone thinking about checking out this restaurant I say "welcome to the family!".So there it is, A special thank you to all the guys at the Bauernschanke. <3

This is a hidden gemstone. A truly unexpected surprise at Berlin's eastern countryside. We were invited by friends to have dinner at Landgasthof zum Mühlenteich. Beautiful surroundings, great staff and the perfect dinner! Amazing and mouthwatering food cooked to perfection. Outstanding desert. All reasonable priced.Dear Catsailor61,a hidden gem in the east of Berlin - thank you for these praiseworthy words. We take every effort to offer the best service every day.Thank you very much.Detlef Fahlereception

We had a fine dinner here. The restaurant was busy, service however fast and friendly. We had some great regional dishes. It was a rather warm day, the beatufull terrace was closed though. One could go there for a breath of air (or cigarette) but no possibility to eat of drink outside wich was a bit pity. Very reasonable prices for the excellent food and wine.

Klare Empfehlung

After travelling around Berlin we got hungry and after accidentally stopping in Strausberg, we choose to visit this Restaurant and give it a try. The weather was perfect and the garden was full, perfect conditions. I wanted to try some traditionall German kitchen so I ordered Schnitzel with french fries (yeah I know, experimenter) and the second meal was fish with potatos and salad. Because of the garden was really full, we had to wait longer then usual to get our drinking and food. The asparagus soup was tasty but I do not know, it tasted different than I am used to, like made just from the bouillon and couple of asparagus and at the end of the cooking process there was few pieces of asparagus added, it was not that kind of blenden asparagus soup like I like, do at home or get in the fancy restaurants, made only from asparagus, vegetables, some potatos, all nice served as kind of puree. The Schnitzel covered in breadcrumbs was not crunchy at all, he took a bath in oil in the frying pan, but the meat was good, it was eatable, but I had already better one for sure. The Fish was definitively better and tasted really good, also the potatos. It was light, not oily, served with vegetables and well cooked potatos, nothing to criticize here.Overall this restauratn worth a try and I can imagine that for many people is this restaurant everyday or everyweekend goal on their journey to the lake or through the city of Strausberg. Quality is standard, service is nice and hardworking, but unfortunatelly no exhilarating experience. Anyway, please hold this standard in your region :-)

Tried dinner after a visit to the nearby airfield and was pleasantly surprised. The service is very polite and professional and the food was delicious.
Awesome French breakfast for me and the doggy breakfast for my puppy served by a very sweet waitress. This coffee place is in a great location with indoor and outdoor seating opening up to the city hall area.Itâs so picturesque on a fall day.A must when in Strausberg.

You donât expect to get a good meal at an airport restaurant; however, the Doppleldecker, is an exception. The restaurant is located in front of the Strausberg Airport and is very convenient when flying or visiting Stemme Aviation. At first look you would think that it is a common burger and fries, or currywurst and fries restaurant. Their dishes are well prepared and nicely presented, especially their fish dishes are delicious and reasonably priced. Their dessert offerings are also great, maybe too great. It is worth trying.
