Even if it was closed, the friendly staff opened up the inside of the restaurant for us only, since it was completely crowded outside due to the nice weather. The wienerschnitzel was excellent and so was the weissbier. I recommend this place.Dear Max S,Many thanks for the nice review.Best regardsthe postfamiliy

We stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere to have a nightcap. Nice décor, the place looked new. Drinks were reasonable so we returned again the following evening. Think they also serve food but we only had drinks. Nice place.

Heavy leather armchairs, gleaming chandeliers and an outstandingly stocked bar with the largest rum collection in southern Germany: our English-style bar with an open fireplace is open daily â from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. the following day. Atmospheric liv
We opted for a quick dinner at Hemingways. The rum cocktails are delicious. Some of the offerings were a bit pricey. We shared the cheese plate and I had the chicken Caesar which was delicious. Co-worker had the chili which was more than ample.

Everything about this place screams Bavaria. The food, the drinks, the atmosphere, and the people in it. If you're up for an authentic Bavarian experience this restaurant is the place to be. Although the service was a bit slow at times, the food and atmosphere made up for it.

New management but still great to see they keep up the old atmosphere. Food is simple and solid for which the Ukrainian chef is a guarantor. We enjoyed being back

If the weather is nice, you can do no better than sitting at the edge of the wee lake in Maising having a beer or meal at the Maisinger Seehof enjoying the sun or watching the sunset. While the menu is not large or as comprehensive as many other biergartens, the food is consistently excellent and even includes several options with fresh green salads (a rare commodity at Bavarian biergartens). I love the Käsespätzle here (egg noodle dumplings with cheese sauce... think homemade mac and cheese, with lumpier denser pasta), which is creamy and cheesy and comes with a large tasty salad. The smoked lake trout is also great on a summer afternoon. They serve Perger juices, schorles and sodas (a very local organic drink manufacturer), and particularly special are the Apfel-, Birnenschorle (apple or pear juice mixed with mineral water) and Johannesbeerschorle (black currant version), which are on the cloudy and sour end of the spectrum. Extremely refreshing with only a hint of sweetness. Perfect. But while the food is excellent, the real reason to go is to sit at the lake and enjoy the quiet nature, far from any busy roads, you can even take a dip in the lake after (or before?) your meal, or enjoy a hike around the lake. They are only open from April until mid-October, and are closed on Mondays

This is an elegant white-table cloth restaurant, very relaxing and good for conversation. We had good meals -- the Wiener Schnitzel was good and the whitefish on spinach excellent. Wines good, service good. We enjoyed it. The only reason I don't give it an excellent is that we found the menu so limited. Well worth a visit.

We were there this weekend after looking some reviews about restaurants near Starnberger See. Since there was good weather, we decided to stay outside in the Biergarten: really nice place to stay with some trees to have some shadow. We ordered two typical dishes: Kässpatzn (8.90â¬) and Grillteller (12.90â¬), which were really tasty and generous! Although we were quite full, we decided to order some desserts: a homemade Apfel Strudel (4.50â¬) and a Walbeerenpfannenkuche (9.80â¬). Simply amazing!! However, keep in mind that the Walbeerenpfannenkuche is really big and is probablly sufficient for 2-4 people (see picture). We really recommend this place for the quality of the food, the price and the service.

Starnberg is a lovely place, however like much of the world, menus in eating places are becoming all the same â same food that is quick and cheap to buy, prepare and deliver to the table. Often classed as âtrendyâ.Walking around the centre of Starnberg, we ofund this problem. Fortunately a local had told us about the Wirtshaus, and it was just what we were looking for. Real German food, that is made on the premises, the way it always has been. No rush to prepare, made the proper traditional way. Excellent! You can eat inside in traditional surroundings, or out on the terrace overlooking a traditional square with a Lederhosen and Durndl retailer in a beautiful traditional atritically decorate building next door. Very Bavaria!Recommend!
