Located just off the water and in the center of town, Hotel Haus Lipmann has a beautiful terrace. We stopped here mid-afternoon for some cake & coffee. We ordered the Kirschstreusel (cherry) and Rieslingtorte accompanied milchkaffee and espresso macchiato. Service was prompt. We enjoy a relaxing time. The ku chen was very tasty.

We ate dinner on the grape-vine-covered balcony overlooking the river. The view is spectacular. Service was impeccable and cheerful. The house wine was delicious. We ordered two of the specials featuring fresh mushrooms, and both were wonderful; my wife had spaghetti with mushroom sauce, and I had schnitzel with a similar though thicker mushroom sauce. She had apple strudel with ice-cream; I had a chocolate cake smothered in cherry sauce set next to a dip of vanilla ice-cream and a dollop of whipped cream. Decadent, yes. We've not had a better meal in our three weeks in Germany.

On a recent holiday in Ediger, we visited this restaurant, as it was recommended on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. The weather was lovely and we sat outside on the terrace. It was busy, but staff were very attentive, and there was a nice friendly atmosphere. I had smoked trout, which was delicious and the others had pork steaks, which were really tender and tasty. We enjoyed it so much that we went back twice. The second time, there was no room on the terrace so we sat downstairs in the cellar, but that was a nice experience too. You need to book a table on the terrace, or go early.

We visited this restaurant while on holiday in the area. The first visit was fine,we both had steak, which was quite large and well cooked. The second visit a few days later wasn't so good,my trout was good but my wife's pork steak or Steak Chef as it was called on the receipt was completely inedible. We mentioned this to the waitress but nothing was done about it.This may have been because of language difficulties as my German is a bit ropey(a bit like the pork!)

We arrived past 8 o'clock in the evening and we're tired and hungry. Frau Wagner recommended us the restaurant and it was quite a nice surprise. Nice view over the Mosel, romantic ambiance. Delicious German food and nice wine (sweet red wine and very sweet dessert wine). Not very detailed menu, but that was not necessary. Lovely waitress who also tried to speak English and was patient when we tried speaking German. It was not cheap but also not that expensive (70â¬, 1 course, wine and water)

Good ambiance and honest food. We made no reservations but just stepped in on a Friday afternoon. No space outside but we were invited into the cellar where it was nice and cool. Better than sitting outside where it was about 30° C!A grand choice of meat dishes. I decided for the "Grillhaxe" with mashed potatoes and "Sauerkraut". My wife chose "Winzergrill"; juicy pork medallions with a pepper-cream sauce. The food was served swiftly and was absolutely fabulous. The staff was friendly. The beer was nicely chilled.

We fancied a change and joined the barbecue at Springiersbacher Hof. Not quite sure of how it would work (and not having the German linguistic skills to work it out) but our friendly hosts explained you selected your salads then the meat chosen was taken to the barbeque and cooked for you. The marinated meat was delicious and not burnt to a crisp as can so often happen with barbecued food. There was plenty of variety with the salads and it was okay to return to the salad bar as often as you wanted. Lovely atmosphere, great wine list from their own winery. It was not expensive and we weren't rushed away after our meal, we were told that the table was ours for the evening. Finished off with a local gin made on the premises, excellent evening with very friendly staff who made us feel really welcome.

Superb. Each dish is prepared with immaculate detail, with freshest ingredients mostly from local sources. They are most accommodating for special diets for example vegetarians can be accommodated on most menu items (not sure about Vegan standards). The staff is very knowledgeable, prompt, and ready to supply helpful suggestions on the meal or wine selection. They have an intimate back room that is very cozy for couples. The outdoor dining is simple but well appointed. Highly Recommended.

I came here with my companion for my birthday based on reviews from people on Trip Advisor and I was NOT disappointed! Be sure to arrive by at least 18.30 if you want a table on the outside terrace as tables are limited. My companion ordered a ragout of venison and I had the trout. Both plates were plentiful and delicious. Great wine as well (we recommend asking for the red wine DORNFELDER (Dry).
