Find out what German restaurants to try in Schleswig. The Duchy of Schleswig (Danish: Hertugdømmet Slesvig; German: Herzogtum Schleswig; Low German: Sleswig; North Frisian: Slaswik) was a duchy in Southern Jutland (Sønderjylland) covering the area between about 60 km north and 70 km south of the current border between Germany and Denmark. The territory has been divided between the two countries since 1920, with Northern Schleswig in Denmark and Southern Schleswig in Germany. The region is also called Sleswick in English.

Had lunch as part of a large pre-booked party. Good asparagus soup followed by buffet main course & excellent ice cream & fresh fruit dessert. Not easy to cater for such numbers, but it was done well.

We had an early family dinner here, sitting outside at the patio looking at the harbour. The waitress was so friendly and attentive. And the food was lovely. Only negative thing was that both the red and the white wine was served too hot on a warm summer day. But weâll definitly come back.

So we went here for a family dinner - claims to be better cuisine. A lot of the dishes are veggie and can be upgraded with meat/fish/...We had couscous, pasta, soup - all pretty good but not exceptional. The service is pretty fast and good, pays attention. Nice place to go to - weâll come back.

We stopped to have a beer and since the view over the water was so great we decided to stay for dinner too. The delicious fish soup was listed as a starter but was huge and very satisfying. We also had a fish dish that was very fresh. Spent a great couple of hours enjoying the food and views.

There were no English translations on our menu, but a guest at a nearby table offered to help us. We had been eating fish every night, so decided to have meat. We both had Holsteiner Schnitzel - which was not Schnitzel à la Holstein. It was a tough pork steak with many mussels, carrot slices, corn, pieces of asparagus, green beans, all in a yellow sauce. We should have had another excellent dinner at our hotel, the Alter Kreisbahnhof.

God only knows how they got planning permission for this bonkers 26 storey building in an otherwise low rise picturesque town. Anyhoo, luckily they did cos it affords you amazing views from the panoramic restaurant at the top. Great value 12euro three course set menu, very friendly staff (tho not much English spoken so bring your dictionary or phrase book!). Food is solid decent German stuff. Very retro feel (black forest gateau for pudding!) which probably isn't deliberate but adds to the charm.

This restaurant has a nice location next to a small river. But more interesting is the offered food. Here they offer next to typical steak types specialties like Bison.Price and Service are little bit high, but for this type of food completely acceptable.

This small, local restaurant serves excellent local food, mainly fresh fish and other locally raised, grown delicacies. The "Scholle" is outstanding, perfectly sautéed and lovingly plated. The comfy atmosphere allows you to enjoy your food and relax and refresh from you sightseeing adventures. The service was above and beyond excellent.

We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, the weather was never warm enough to eat in the pleasant garden. But the upstairs area is also very nice and cosy for dinner. The food is excellent and the prices not too high givern the quality of the food. Certainly the best place to eat besides the restaurant of Hotel Waldschlösschen. The latter also offers very good food, but is located in the outskirts.
