Although lacking in the "old world slightly seedy charm" of it's previous location, is still one of the most popular local hangouts in Alona where you can always find a friendly pool player and cheap drinks. Clean and friendly, all you can ask for in a bar.

IMPORTANT: The restaurant depicted is the old CU. It is now called TipTop. The new CU restaurant is now at 9.552012° North, 123.773297° East.We were at the new CU Biergarten!The owner did bring with him the quality of food to the new, more accessible place just off the main road. There are 3 distinct places where you can eat: The restaurant, the Biergarten and the BBQ. We chose the restaurant because in the "Biergarten" was a noisy group of already drunk Koreans.The restaurant looks nice is well maintained and very clean. Staff was cheerful and very fast.As it was October, we chose the "Oktoberfest Schlachtplatte". A platter with different sausages and meat accompanied by "Sauerkraut" and hash brown. Delicious! The quality was much better than in many restaurants in Munich. We started to chat with a backpacker couple at the next table. They were more on a budget but were positively surprised by the quantity and quality they got.When we left later in the night, the Koreans had gotten much more silent and much more drunken. Because of the wide space of the restaurant we didn't feel disturbed by them.We will come back when we'll again visit our friends in Alona.

Mikes Food Point is popular with everyday locals like me and tourist's pulling over to try their high quality yet affordable burger's.They have a great selection of different burgers, german dishes and cold drinks that I'm trying.Aside from the great food, you'll enjoy a welcoming hospitality from patrons and the staff.The location is just outside Alona Beach heading towards Danao/Poblacion and you can watch the traffic go by with the occasional planes flying overhead.Really cool spot, highly recommend going here and my only reject is not finding it earlier :(
