... macht auch nicht in der Provinz halt! Stichwort Kinder! Ohne Kindergeschrei absolut empfehlenswert! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Nice restaurant with a good menu. The service is ordinary. We loved the bread selection served before the meal. Unike most other restaurants, their bread seemed fresh and warm. The dining room is a sea of chairs and tables which makes it look a tad dull and unattractive. But I guess the taste and quality of the food makes up for that!

Restaurant Vitalis is located in Thermarium Bad Schönborn. Love the location. Wish I could say the same about the food. Voiced my opinion to the locals who will not eat there. Majority of people are tourist. I ate there 3 times. Either the veggies are overcooked or out of cans. I ordered plum cake with whipped cream. The whipped cream melted in 2 minutes to mush. I asked the server if it was from a can. She looked at me like I was an idiot. Her answer: of course the whipped cream comes from a can. Where do you think it comes from? I replied: from the cow. Even for convenience i will not eat there again on my next stay.Thank you for your rating. I want to apologize for the bad experience you made in our restaurant. We have a machine which makes your whipped cream, it does not come from the can.We would like to contact you. Would you like to write uns an email? [email protected]

This restaurant in the family run Hotel and Restaurant Erck offers what we would call contemporary regional cooking. We ate here four days running because there seemed no reason to eat anywhere else. Every dish was of a high standard offering the kinds of items local to the region but in a modern style. Two menus were offered, one fixed the other different each day, while the Carte had a fair but manageable choice and prices are very reasonable. Around EUR30 including wine and beer. Each main dish has a recommended wine by the 20cl carafe. All of the wines were from the region which means an excellent selection of Rieslings and other whites. But Brits are used to choosing wines from all round the world and for us, German reds just donât compare. The really excellent craft beer that the Erck family have on draught is well worth a mention . Many nice touches like the three little dishes of delicacies served before the first course, and a special water served with coffee to balance the acidity. All of the staff are very professional , friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Definitely worth a detour if you are not staying in the very nice Hotel.

This is an oddity - the name of the establishment translates as "At the bearded winemakers" - and indeed it is the house of the bearded winemaker - and opens only at certain times of the year. Check the website. Set in a Hansel and Gretel pretty village - you go down the side of the house and through a wooden door to find yourself in a barn, with long wooden tables, a bar area and the friendly winemaker and his wife on hand to greet you.The menu is small but the portions are large (you can order half portions) This is typical home-cooked German food - filling and comforting on a wet cold night at the end of October. I had Pork Schnitzel - three large pieces of meat with a piece of lettuce and a bowl of bread, but we shared a side salad whilst my dining companion had a "small" portion of beef (two big slices) with a large gherkin and creamed homemade horseradish sauce that packed a punch. The dessert was a delicious homemade apple type pancake - thin dough topped with apple rings with a blob of raspberry jam in the middle and sprinkled with cinammon. Absolutely delicious. There is no beer on the menu - but of course there is lots of wine and you can buy ridiculously cheap bottles to take home with you.I can think of nothing like this in the UK. A working family vineyard with an occasional restaurant serving simple home-made food. Fantastic.

This place is always more or less fully-booked, when it is open, but even if full, you always manage to get a seat if you are patient. The food is local and in big portions and the wine they serve is from their own vineyards and known for its good quality. Because of so many people visiting the place the waiters may appear fairly stressed. But as Besenwirtschaft is something really German, I would recommend a visit there.

Good food, very nice atmosphere. Beautifully decorated, nice large tables and good service. Daily lunch menu, also good prices. If you are in a camper van there are discounts available (just small ones). The menu I chose, although it was tasty could have been hotter. Apart from that it was a good place to chill out and watch life in the town from the large windows.

On a stop on our trip Henrys was an excellent choice. Cordon Bleu and Agentinian rumpsteak were good choices. Huge portions. Nice atmosphere and good chairs and table. Friendly yet busy staff. Reasonably priced compared to comfort and taste of food. We can certainly recommend it
