Things to do in Nienburg
'The Bridge Restaurant', with views over the River Weser, is located on the connecting span between the hotel and theatre complex. In the background there is the continual sound of the waterfall. We had an excellent dinner here and the staff were courteous and helpful. As it happened we did reserve a table, since we noticed that the restaurant was completely full on Saturday evening. We both opted for fish as a main course and the white wine was excellent. Was however surprised that we continually had to refill our own wine glasses and this was not done by the waitress. All in all the food was excellent and portions very generous. Although they do not have specific dishes listed on the menu as being 'gluten free', each item I chose was gluten free.

I come here regularly for business in Nienburg and surroundings. At the Landhaus you will find nice comfortable rooms, good internet and a restaurant that is good for dinner and also very welcoming for lunches. As a normal traveller you will miss nothing and enjoy a quiet relaxing stay.

The Kartoffelhaus offers a wide variety of potato containing meals. Going from german over spain to mexican influenced meals. Chef Antonio (friends call him Toni) is one of the most friendliest guys I know. He prepares the meals himself. Always fresh and at moderate prices. The service is good and waiting times totally fine. A very familiary athmosphere.

We had a most delicious meal here for less than $15. The trout was superb and the schnitzel wonderful. Tables had cloth tablecloths and were decorated with fresh roses. The server spoke some English and was very patient with our attempts at German. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is located on the banks of the River Weser with lovely views of the surrounding country side. Obviously a very popular place with the local inhabitants since the night we went (without a reservation) they were packed catering for two separate group events. As a result the menu was basically limited and we did not really have a choice.......schnitzel, which is pretty standard in Germany. They went out of their way to be helpful and were quite prepared to ensure that my schnitzel was 'gluten free'.Staff courteous and helpful and considering they were so busy the service was excellent. There is outdoor seating as well for summer purposes. For 2 people, including 3 glasses of wine, desert and tea/coffee the cost was euro47.30, which is very reasonable.

The Platon restaurant offers a nice variety of well prepared Greek food. The owner couple is very friendly and always have a good suggestion for a meal.I simply like the Greek starter plate and the Greek yoghurt with honey and nuts is always worth a sin. In summer the beer garden is also very nice to sit.The Platon is a nice place to have a relaxed evening with some quite authentic food. Around weekend or for outside sitting a reservation is recommended.
