The place isn't terrible, just not anything special, and really confusing. We went there hoping to get good German food, but there only two German dishes on the menu. Slightly disappointed, but still hopeful, I opted for the pecan crusted chicken. It wasn't awful, but it was definitely left in the fryer too long. I just ate the middle part that wasn't rock hard, and it was ok. The steamed veggies were good, and the mashed potatoes were kinda bland with a bit of almost rubbery texture. The menu is mostly steaks and such, and I have a feeling this place would do much better changing its name and advertising itself as more of a steakhouse or american cuisine. If you're looking for german food, skip this one.

Followed a friend's recommendation and ate lunch at Uwe's. Not very crowded. Fun waitress but forgetful. Food preparation was a bit slow for a club sandwich and Bratwurst on a bun. Overcharged us on the bill and took longer than planned to resolve.

We were looking for great German food and stopped here first. Hubby had Roulade meal for $18.80 and I ended up with a Garden Salad and Potato Pancakes. The server was pleasant and prompt, but we did have to wait a little while for our food. Hubby said the Roulade was about average, not large enough portion for the price. He had to ask for bread with his meal as it is not provided. I had two appetizers, the salad was very good and made with greens and veggies with ham. The potato pancakes were ok, but would rather have had sour cream than cinnamon applesauce. The cinnamon just didn't work well with the potatoes. There was no atmosphere, it was just a room with tables and a few German looking items scattered around. We were not impressed at all.

Late lunch on a Saturday. Ordered two cheeseburgers with coleslaw, tea and a diet coke. We ran out of drinks. We were dry for a l o n g time before receiving refills. It took an hour to receive food. I know the time due to texts I received. The burgers were good. Only one leaf of lettuce and one slice of tomato. Skimpy in my opinion. Cole slaw was good. Service was poor. We were given drinks to go.

My husband and I recently returned from a Rhine River Cruise through Germany and loved the food there. Our traveling buddy loves German food. So, naturally on our one night stay in New Braunfels we searched Trip Advisor for a German food restaurant. Thanks TA nation for leading us to this wonderful jewel. I had the traditional Wiener Schnitzel (breaded and fried veal cutlet) and the other two had the Sauerbraten (roast beef with gravy and potato dumplings). Both were excellent choices. Fresh salad was served before the entrees and the house vinaigrette was a standout. Both the red cabbage and the sauerkraut were very good. The warm German potato salad was tangy and very satisfying. The bread was good and the wine list more than adequate. Hot apple strudel was the perfect ending to a very nice meal. I would eat here again!
