We went here on a summer afternoon. Sat outside in the wonderful biergarten. It's really quite and peaceful. For the children there is an excellent playground. The food is great value for money. Well cooked schnitzel and big sized portions. Not haute cuisine, but hey I am Dutch, who am I to criticize a cuisine in general. Will definitely be back since it's not far from family.

Wir waren zum wiederholten mal im Restaurant "Gasthof Hahnestroat". Die Bedienung ist freudlich und man wird schnell angesprochen. Das Essen ist lecker, die Quallität sehr gut und die Preise sind akzeptabel.Was man verbessern kann ist die Organisation. Es kann schon mal passieren das die Beilagen auf dem Tisch stehen und das Fleisch 10 Minuten später kommt.

A friendly welcome and a nice setup. The place was clean and nicely decorated.Ok, it was a bit early and we were the first guests this late afternoon. But I do think this cannot be an excuse for the quality of the food. My tiny rump steak was not at all "medium rare". It was cremated, tough and expensive. Sorry, we paid and left not saying a word. But I doubt very much that we will ever come back.

You may not even consider going here. Think again. There's a large terrace, next to a small lake. Parking places enough and free. When the sun shines, it is crowded. People know this hidden gem. We all ordered Schnitzel for lunch. You got what you want. Large sized Schnitzel with Pommes. Excellent. Salad is included, a salad bar is inside, seld service.

Wir können den positiven Beurteilungen voll zustimmen. Die Menüs waren hervorragend zubereitet inklusive erstklassiger Austern. Dazu gab es den passenden Wein aus einer deutschen Spitzenlage. Abgerundet wurde der Schlemmerabend durch eine sehr aufmerksame Bedienung.

Restaurant Haus Sonneck is located in Nettetal between the A61 and A40 highways and not far from the Netherlands border. Haus Sonneck is family owned and operated since the 18sixties. Good food, a pleasant atmosphere and adequate service define its character. We came on a Sunday and the place was relatively full, a good sign. The menu is traditional German Landküche. We skipped the starter and went for a classical course of asparagus and wine. We were pleasantly surprised. Also the dessert was nice. Dishes are well presented and tasty. Haus Sonneck is a restaurant that definitely deserves its Michelin Bib Gourmand.We recommend Haus Sonneck and to anyone who seeks nice food accompanied by a good glass in a pleasant ambiance.

When you arrive at the Lambertus Keller it looks like a very cheap shabby place. However, once you have entered the cellar you find a cosy and warm place. Not too crowded, and the service is very personal and good. The best Filé Steak I have eaten in a long time!

Who looks for a historical ambience combined with high food quality, should not miss this place. The castle looks like medieval and the rooms are partially decorated with old statues. The menu contains special dishes from the region (e.g. rheinischer Sauerbraten) and are served properly from friendly waiters. Prices are not overstated. Clear recommendation!
