We ate and slept there (although we wished we had done the latter somewhere else). Had dinner at their restaurant as the advertised food on the blackboard outside looked interesting and the prices within our budget. Our group did enjoy the regional meal selections. The "Leberkaese" was especially good.

We just dropped here spontaneously for lunch. We had veal sausages with truffels taste and deer. The food was awesome, served together with very interesting dips and nice extras like hone made spatzle or roasted potatoes. The servants were nice and cheerful. We will back again definitely.

Dass, zu einem angenehmen Aufenthalt, auch die Mitarbeiter eines Lokales beitragen, hat sich hier offensichtlich noch nicht herum gesprochen. Ein unfreundlicher Kellner, der nicht zeitnah auf die Bedürfnisse eines Gastes eingeht, sei hier nur am Rande erwähnt. Auch die Zubereitung der Speisen lässt ordentlich âLuft nach obenâ.

We dined here as we were staying in the hotel (see review).The restaurant offered 3 different menus, each with the choice of a taste of wines, eventually. Portions are not very small. There was also the opportunity to order à la carte and waiters seemed to be accommodating about it. However we chose the menus which are well priced and the food was all good. They serve modern German cuisine and some things were a bit unusual (which is good) but generally ranged from good to very good. I would return.

Sunday lunch is pretty usual in England but for some reason not so in Germany, so we were surprised to find a restaurant open for Sunday lunch. We had reservations but really didn't need them as, despite the lively setting alongside a marina and quite close to a ferry dock, the restaurant wasn't very busy. Service at first was efficient but completely disappeared by the last course.Portions are large so only order a first course if you're really hungry. Salads were generous but not very tasty despite what should be tasty ingredients. The companion had the steak and cheese spatzle. Despite being cooked medium the steak was tough but the spatzle was under-seasoned. The entree came with a side salad.My dish of lake fish was generous with various fishes from Lake Constance. There were six small fillets, again well cooked but under-seasoned. The dish came with six boiled potatoes and a melange of shredded vegetables that looked like it had been sitting for a long while in a steam tray. Desserts, when we got them, were very good. My macaroon with fresh berries and berry ice cream was excellent tainted by the disappearance of almost every member of the wait staff. We sat for a good 20 minutes before someone patrolled the dining area. Then another 15 before we were able to order coffee and the bill. Can't explain the problem but suspect everyone clocked off at 14,00 despite customers still sitting at tables. If you choose the Seehof for a meal get there early.Thank you for your visit, hopefully you had a nice trip at the Bodensee. Seemed you have chosen the nicest locations around. Sind hier immer wieder gerne zu Gast. Wurstsalat war gut, Kartoffelsalat wie immer ein Traum, Salat generell top, vom Hähnchen waren alle begeistert, Käsespätzle war nix.In Summe gut, daher bei Gelegenheit gerne wieder.

Die Bewertungen hier überschlagen sich ja förmlich - also haben auch wir einen Besuch gewagt.Posititv: Sehr freundlicher Service; schönes Ambiente und für Familien wie uns direkte Anbindung an den Spielplatz des Campingsplatzes.Das Essen jedoch war eher durchwachsen. Die asiatischen Nudeln waren recht geschmacksneutral; mein Salat war ok, jedoch auch kein Highlight; Essen in Summe bei 3 Punkten; Eigentlich würde ich 3,5 geben; da dies nicht geht, werden es leider eher 3 Punkte.

Six of us ate here the night we arrived from the Seattle. We were tired and very hungry. We went here upon a recommendation from the hotel receptionist and she did good. This was a fantastic introduction to the cuisine of the region and German hospitality in general.My command of the German Language remains minimal but was unneeded here. The manager described each dish and was very tolerant of questions. Most of us had a daily special of special locally made sausages with sauerkraut. Excellent.We were full but just had to have some apple strudel. We hav no trouble finishing those plates!If you visit Markdorf I recommend Schwanenstuble.
