The Bavaria Haus is a local hidden treasure full service German-American restaurant. Since 1958, this free standing restaurant resembles an old style house and cottage. Hugh oak tree canopy covers outside dinning patio. Self parking in our lot.
They have great food and are known for their breakfast and Lunches. This is true German style dishes. They are typically busy. They have served Dinner in the past that has been very good but make sure you check their current hours.

I'm very disappointed that it took until the end of our meal, to find a dish that was enjoyable to eat. We were visiting the Ft. Lauderdale area, and we visited the Ambry on the recommendation of our guests. My first impression upon entering the restaurant, was the it was decorated over the course of many years. It is a darker atmosphere, more reminiscent of a German Rathskeller. When it comes to German food, the décor does not guarantee an authentic German dining experience. We ordered a variety of dishes, from Wiener Schnitzel to Berliner Liver, to a Bratwurst and Smoked Pork Loin. The salad bar was included with the meal, and it was an indication of the meal that was to follow. I stared in disbelief at the bowls of carrots and cucumbers, because I could not imagine that a chef would allow such poorly cut vegetables out of the kitchen. Instead of thinly sliced or julienne style, they were chopped into large pieces, leaving it to the diner to cut them to the correct size. This was just fast and easy, lazy preparation. Cutting the salad pieces at our table was no easy feat either. Just imagine a glass salad plate on a glazed table, with no placemats. Luckily, there was cole slaw and potato salad on the salad bar, and they did not require cutting. There were a number of issues with our meals: the veal in the Wiener Schnitzel was not pounded, the Bratwurst was tasteless, the smoked Pork Loin was absolutely dry. Our guest who ordered the Calves Liver "Berlin", left most of her dish, and just said that it didn't taste good. There were also issues with the sauerkraut which was not drained before it was placed on the plate, and the lack of sauce for the Spaetzle. This visit was extremely disappointing, especially since in the last two months we had visited other German restaurants in Florida and New York, where the food was exceptional. I've been eating these types of dishes for over 60 years, and I've never tasted such poor examples of German food.
