We always try and have a couple of meals here when we are on holiday in Inzell, one of our favourite restaurants in the village.I nearly always have the Hirschgulash and my wife the liver, as it is always delicious, and consistently so. We have probably eaten here 8 time or so times over the last few years and the food is always excellent.Beatifully decorated too inside, friendly staff. Can't really fault it for anything.

We just happened across this restaurant attached to Schmelz Gasthof as we were driving passed on the main road and it seemed like a quiet spot for lunch. On descending the hill, we found the place was packed with hikers (and most seemed well into their 60s) all getting fortified for their afternoon trek. There is no English menu but with a bit of pointing and reading a bit of the specials board we were both happy to stick to "Today's Specials" and at less than 10 Euros we were well pleased - and well fed. Like all the others we ate on the large shady veranda and despite the number of guests, service was relatively prompt. Importantly for travellers, there were good clean toilets.I wouldn't go out of my way, but if in the vicinity, give it a try.

We stopped here for dinner on our Alpenstrasse road trip.It was very stormy outside, and inside it was full of people. We had a really good time! the food was REALLY good and the service as well. I had a wonderful Pfifferlinge dish and it was refreshing to eat GOOD German food, as usually, the German food is a bit lifeless in my opinion...

Came from Singapore for 2 days to Inzell. After a 2 hours walk in the mountains nearby and before heading for Salzburg airport to fly back to Singapore I had lunch at Hirschbichler. Great food, cannot be more local and authentic than there. 2 thumbs up. Will be back in February for the World Championships. Looking to be indulged again.

There is a nice apartment complex there for DT employees. We spent some days there. The restaurant serves for theese guests but you can visit from street as well. The staff was friendly and the menu we selected were ok. No extra, but you can get high standard.

Have been here twice now. First time was with a large group and special menu and second with my son. Both times the food was of a good standard. The veg rosti was extremely tasty with freshly grilled vegetables. It's a great place on a summer evening to sit outside for a meal and/or drink. The service is friendly and efficient. definately will go again.

Loved this cosy little place, so visited twice during our week's stay. Lovely wooden interior, and very pleasant staff. Had the Bauern Groestl on both occasions as it was so good and excellent value. Word of warning - premises are small and the place is so poular - so do try and make a reservation.

It's a typical Bavarian restaurant, placed on a nice hill, conveniently on the path to local sights. On Sunday, when we were there they had traditional live music. The restaurant is run by a family, I think that they are also the ones who do the cooking. The menu doesn't offer too many options and the plates are slightly small, especially if you go hiking.
