Shared a family meal here in February 2015. Good wholesome German cooking at a reasonable price. Generous portions that some of the younger members struggled with after Carnival festivities.

We visited this establishment as a family group and, despite this being a Saturday and very busy with locals and a bus party, were well catered for.

We had a wonderful dinning experience. It is perfect the way it is as it truly captures the essence of a gasthaus. Very friendly greeting at the door and the owner must have been around 5 times asking all the diners how things were. Very good service and the food arrived in good time, pipping hot.The wienerschnitzel Princess was very good. The veal was nicely done with a nice crunch on the outside but tender inside. I loved the idea of spargel on top with melted cheese, although the spears were a bit overcooked. Great side of frites, more in the style of Dutch fries than the thinner ones more common in Germany. The trout was also cooked nicely. A bit of a coating on the skin was okay but it tasted better without it. The steamed taters were well cooked, i.e. not mushy, just right. Oops, forgot to mention the feldsalat to start. MmmmmGreat atmosphere, very nice service.

Also eher vom Typ bessere Pommesbude.

Service sehr freundlich.

Cute little cafe in the village of Beeck, west of Linnich. Basically offers a selection of cakes, and drinks. Nothing too fancy but good location and pleasant inside. Nextdoor is an old antique shop.

we went to the relatively new restaurant for a good quality evening meal fpor our wedding anniversary with wine and beer. As we didn´t have a reservation we were lucky to get a table. However this table had one side steeped in the late afternoon sun; it had been over 30°c all day and I was becoming dehydrated so asked if i could have a glass of tap water just to start. I was planning to have wine and/or a beer later as an aperitif and with my meal a bit later on, but received the curt reply that as company policy that no tap water is issued. As it was very warm and I was fading I asked once again but was refused my request. Remember, I had asked for a glass of tap water just to get rehydrated. My husband and I then quickly odered a beer and a bottled water at an obvious price. We had decided that this sort of company policy wasn´t going to fit it with our plans for the evening and when asked if everything was OK, we replied honesly that it was not and we were going to another venue. The owner then appeared and again explained that it was a principle that no free tap water was supplied. I answered that I understood his remark but said no more. As I wasn´t giving much of an argument he stated again that it was company policy that no free tap water was issued. I then told him that I understood him the first time and he needn´t repeat himself. It does make me wonder if company policy for refusing a 200 ml glass of tap water in temperatures of 30°c is a wise company policy. If the budget is so tightly arranged and this is not compatible, where does this leaves the restaurant in a future position as far a customer satisfaction/service goes. We quickly moved on to the steak restaurant MuJo in Ãbach-Palenberg where we had a wonderful meal, wine and beer and upon asking them if I had needed a glass of tap water upon arrival the owner replied that there was no problem and frankly looked slightly bemused at my question, until I explained. So, sorry Sonador, your policy is out of favour and we won´t be coming back, to fill your pockets...

A very busy café in a small village called Immendorf, in front of the "Historical Classroom" (Historisches Klassenzimmer). Great stopover while taking a bicycle tour. All baked goods are made on site. Recommended: Creme brulee Kuchen or Eiskuchen. The older folks do know where they can find good Kuchen!
