Find out what German restaurants to try in Gamlitz. Gamlitz (Slovene: Gomilnica) is a municipality in the district of Leibnitz in Styria, Austria. In the first known document that mentions it (dated from 1145), the settlement is called Gomilnitz, a reference either to the Slavic gomilca which denotes a small hill, or to gom (a group or chain of hills); indeed Gamlitz is situated among and between rolling hills. The tradition of the local castle goes back to the year 1111.

We`ve been in the Kogel3 for a quick lunch and the place wasn`t busy at all. The service staff was very welcoming and quick, the menu quite small (which is a good thing) and the local wines are excellent. The atmosphere is quite relaxed and the prices moderate. So far, the best restaurant in the area.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights 14 â 17 Oct, 2012. There was a free car parking area in front of the hotel / restaurant with enough spaces. We paid 61 Euro per person per night including breakfast. We had a nice room in the main building right over kitchen; you can hear some kitchen noise but we found it to be quiet after 11pm. The room had great lighting; even the closet and ledge behind the bed were back lit â very modern touch. The mattress was comfortable and overall the linens were nice except for the bottom sheet which had a large weave and was almost rough. The room had a small balcony off the side with stunning views of the beautiful vineyards and countryside of the Sudsteirische Weinstrasse. The bathroom was spacious with good towels, water pressure, etc. They provided robes and a cloth bag with towels to use in the swimming pool and spa. The swimming pool was already closed when we were there but we used the spa tub and steam rooms every day. The spa tub area has large sliding glass doors that we opened up to the gorgeous views. The breakfast buffet was very generous and of good quality with both hot and cold foods. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice and the food was really outstanding on both nights. We also had a snack outside in the garden one afternoon which was equally delicious. The fresh salads with pumpkin seed oil dressing are remarkable, as were all the soups we tried. The entrees and the Sabathihof wines were all very good. We would definitely recommend both the hotel and restaurant and would stay here again. Itâs a perfect place to stay in the region and easy to do day and/or half-day trips from. We found the staff helpful and accommodating.

They probably have one of the best jause out of all of the places I've been. The variety is great and the sulze is amazing. The bread is almost always really fresh - though I've had some stale bread here before... maybe on a Sunday. The could work on the desserts a bit more. It's always fresh, but always the same cake with poppy seeds and egg. No one really gets excited for that, but maybe because everyone is super stuffed :).

This is a very interesting and special location. The owner is specialized on biological viniculture with very special tasting wines. He is not interested in mass tourism and you get already written hints, when you enter the restaurant. But if you are open for new things, if you want to taste orange wine, and if you like good food and interesting explanations, this is the right location for you. Don't expect too much food, but the view things we got were really good. At the end we wanted to buy some bottles of this special orange wines, but the owner refused. He told us, that you need a lot of experience to prepare and drink this kind of wine and so it's better that we should buy more traditional wine (which he also offers). We liked his kind of enthusiasm, but maybe this is not true for other people, so be serious, if you would like to visit the Rebenhof Einkehr.

Enjoy tasty moments and a marvellous panoramic view at the new "Gasthaus Tscheppe". A selected range of styrian cuisine dish
While meandering along the Südsteirische Wine-route, I stumbled across the place. It has a terrific outdoor terrace with a breathtaking over the vineyards nearby. The service was very pleasant and we enjoyed the food.(no Haube or Michelin, price quality perfect) The Sulztal doesn´t seem so touristy as other parts of the Wine-route. Border with Slovenia is very near.Nearby is a backroad called Südsteirische Panorama Route, an absolute must!

After a wonderful day in the vineyards of Styria, we had worked up an appetite and stopped here for dinner. It was great!Ordered an array of platters covering cheeses, sausage, various meats, vegetables, spreads and wonderful breads. It was a delightful meal and was coupled with awesome Austrian wines. Finished it off with some fine Austrian pastries.Ate outside at a big table and the weather was awesome and the scenery amazing.Had excellent service from the moment we entered. Excellent Austrian food!
