We just loved the execution of every dish both fish and meat and the noble touch on known Central European dishes. Everything was in place and the service helped increase the joy of dining in Ausspanne. The wine list had a full choice of German Austrian Italian and French wines and rhe choice of digestives, brandys and fruit liquor store was exceptional. One of the very best in Chemnitz

It is a barn (Scheune) made into a restaurant with very rustical decoration. All traditional meat dishes of Saxony are offered at their best. Smoked pork steak with cabbage and many more. The real discovery though is the fish. Sweet water fish of their own production smoked in a very traditional and delicious way. It is served also baked with typical Saxonian vegetable side dish. Poor wine list - stick to the beer. Excellent service

It is a hall of an old spinning machines factory, high roof, fine decoration including garn cones and a big screen playing a documentary about the now extinct textile machine industry of the region. An open kitchen with excellent grilling capabilities (both meat and fish) no smells (fabulous air circulation) brick walls. Starters full of taste and imagination and a great assortment of pulled and fresh meat to grill as well as fish together with a big variety of side dishes. Nice wine list. One of the best in Chemnitz. Not to be missed!

Momentan befindet sich vor dem Restaurant eine Baustelle, bis zum Parkplatz kommt man aber. Auf dem kurzen Weg zum Biergarten kommt man an einem ungewöhnlichen "Vorgarten" vorbei- dort wachsen keine Rosen oder Löwenmäulchen sondern Kürbisse, Spitzkohl und Tomaten, Sonnenblumen und ganz viele Kräuter.Ein Blick in die Karte klärt auf-hier wird mit regionalen Lieferanten und heimischen Produkten gekocht. Und das auf hohem Niveau. Die Auswahl an Speisen auf der Karte ist begrenzt, wird jedoch durch mehrere Tagesangebote erweitert. Die Kreationen wirken mutig, sind aber alle total schmackhaft-und das ist es was ich mag wenn ich auswärts essen gehe! Wir wurden kompetent beraten bei der Speisenauswahl und erfuhren auch das es eine extra Dessertkarte gibt. Natürlich dauert es etwas von der Bestellung bis zum servieren der Speisen. Aber wir haben gut gesessen im Biergarten und die Zeit wurde uns nicht lang. Von der Vorspeise über den Hauptgang bis zum Dessert war alles ein Hochgenuss. Ein erneuter Besuch wird in Kürze folgen!

Wer zum "Emil" geht, weià was ihn erwartet. Gute Hausmannskost zum kleinen Preis. Die Portionen sind nicht die allergröÃten, dafür stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ãber Freundlichkeit kann ich mich nicht beschweren - wir wurden stets freundlich begrüÃt und behandelt. Man muss auch nicht lange auf sein Essen warten und es schmeckt wie bei Muttern. Wenn man im Vorbeigehen einen Blick in die Küche wirft, weià man auch warum. Wir fühlen uns hier wohl und kehren gern mal hier ein.

This is the hidden jem of Chemnitz. Roland Keilholz and his Team are doing a wonderful Job preparing the best Quality of dishes in town. Light German cuisine with italian and asian influences. The best meat and fish you get within 50 kilometers. And yet it is not very expensive. You definitely have to go there.

We have been visiting Hofmann's Rossschlaechterei when we were kids, money was tight and our single mom bought meat here frequently. This was our first visit back in last 15 years and we were delighted to enjoy fabulous home made German food. Having travelled extensively and taking foreign guests to the Oktoberfest etc I have to say Franklin's is way better than the touristy places and on par with good home made food restaurants. For starters we had horse carpaccio which had a very refreshing pure taste. Mains were Roulade with Green Potato Dumpling , one of my childhood favorites. The red cabbage was excellent , fresh, not overcooked with a slight crisp. My brother had horse Schnitzel which was baked in butter, the way it has to be made. All in all excellent , I took some smoked horse sausage home to Tokyo. Very onexpensive by intl standards.

Leaving Chemnitz on the way to Dresden we decided not to take the highway but the country roads through the beautiful outland of the Erzgebirge. About lunch time we stopped, still pretty close to Chemnitz in Lichtenwalde with a beautiful baroque castle. Not only the weather was perfect, the park got elected one of the most beautiful baroque parks in 2005 and we had a long walk along fountains, beautiful views and a lot of flowers. Hungry we came along the Vitzthum restaurant (name goes back to the last owners) right in the castle with a beautiful garden, so we decided to eat there. Typical food from the area, German cuisine and some vegetarian dishes, even a vegan dish rounded up our stay. The prices moderate and the service very polite and friendly we were completely satisfied and happy continuing our journey to Dresden.

Trotz des sehr strammen Ostergeschäftes war das gesamte Team sehr professionell unterwegs. Stets freundlich und flink lieà es uns spüren, hier willkommener Gast zu sein. Die Küche bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas an, und das für diese Lokation zu humanen Preisen. Wer sich also nach einem Park- und Schlossrundgang stärken will, hier ist er richtig.

Es ist schon bemerkenswert, wenn man über Jahre hinweg feststellen kann: ein Aufenthalt in den geschmackvoll gestalteten Räumlichkeiten beinhaltet Zufriedenheitsgarantie, Egal, ob das schon legendäre LunDess, der Dixielandabend (Nur das Wetter könnte mal wieder besser sein!) oder auch *nur* ein ganz normaler Gaststättenbesuch: da gibt es keinen Unterschied. Immer gut. Immer familiär. Und deshalb halt auch: immer wieder!
