Let yourself be enchanted by the Hotel Stegerbräuâs traditional flair, with a tasty modern twist. Step into these tasteful premises which radiate cosiness and a welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail underlines the rural-rustic ambience of the vene
Staying locally in a chalet just outside Radstadt and visited this restaurant for dinner one evening. Lovely old hotel/restaurant with typical Austrian atmosphere. The waiter was very friendly and English was no problem as he specifically gave us an English menu. There own stegerbrau beer is very good. I had half a fried chicken with a salad. Plenty of food. The apple strudel was particularly good as a dessert. Value for money was also good as the bill was about 20 euros per head. Well worth a visit.
During skiing we were here for a quick lunch. Traffic was very high, but service was kind and quick. This cottage offers typical Austrian meals for reasonable prices (soups for about 5 EUR and dishes for about 10 EUR).I recommend it for its good service and fine meals.

we visited " Schoergi - Alm " on December 29, 2015... you reach SCHOERGI by taking the Gondola up the mountain, which is a wonderful experience with great views. Once you are up there you will see many Skiers getting ready to go downhill. Schoergi - Alm is located right next to it, they have an outside sun-terrace, where you can sit , soak up the warm sun, have a meal or just a Cappuccino as we did. From here you can watch the Hot Air Balloons and the Gross Glockner Mountain range.Don't miss it when you visit this area it's worth it. The Service is efficient too.

Looking forward soon to going back to the Burgerbergalm - a wonderful dark, wooden, warm comfortable place on the slopes above Radstadt, I've been in swisher, flashier places but this one sits very easily in my favourite places to sit and eat and just be. You can find better everythings elsewhere but that doesn't matter...... I can breathe, watch the mountains, eat and drink.......

Important, we were not hotel guests. We came only for food, the first waiter didn't serve us as he spoke no English, or at least that's what he said. Another two just greeted us although it was pretty clear we were waiting to be seated. So after ten minutes we had enough of waiting. Pity.

THE FOOD: recommendable. Even me as a local I loved it! Had the "Tischlerei soup" which is a mix of many Austrian soups - very good. As a main I can recommend the Bull ("Schulterscherzel") - it was a very soft meat (cooked for 48hrs). As a desert we had the flower pot which reminded me of Pana Cotta. THE SERVICE: very friendly and attentive. Waitresses serve in the typical Austrian dress ("Dirndl").THE VENUE: very pretty. They managed to incorporate modern interior design into the Austrian wooden style.

We have been to Fiakerwirt many times and always return when we are in Filzmoos. It has a fantastic traditional atmosphere. On one occasion, we were even treated to local people singing and playing their harmonicas. Their passion for their horses is in abundance and their dogs often come to greet you. The food is traditionally Austria and is served in generous portions. They also offer horse-drawn sleigh rides to other traditional Austrian mountain hut restaurants through the woods, returning to Fiakerwirt with a much needed schnapps.

We had dinner at Braunhoferâs following a friendâs suggestion. We tried different types of meet (deer, mixed grill, chicken) and their carrotsâ soup, everything was really delicious. First choice Austrian ingredients, traditionally cooked and served with a smile. Make sure to reserve a table before going.

All meals were really delicious. The dear stew was served with excellent side salat. My wife was looking for a traditional meal "KAISERSCHMARRN" and she was delighted with the taste. Access to the restaurant might be not easy but I highly recommend to climb up with your car 1,3 km to experience excellent cousine. Restaurant is known amongst local people from Forstau and they highly recommend the place. Interior of restaurant seems not to be sophisticated and fancy but looks really cosy. If you are looking for some local Austrain cousine in very reasonable price visit Draxler and you will not regret.

My husband and I celebrated our 60th birthday at this quaint restaurant on the mountain. We planned the occasion from our home in South Africa and the evening exceeded our expectations. From the time we were fetched and transported to Sonnenalm we were welcomed as if we were family. Service, incredible food, fun and laughter together with their hospitality made for an evening we will never forget. Each morsel of food was so evidently lovingly prepared and presented. Homemade schnapps, handcrafted puzzle type games, chatting to the family and traditional music added to the magic of the evening. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for everything. We will dream of the day we can return.
