Our party of 9 (4 adults, 5 children) ate at the Almenhof on Christmas night 2014. The food was very reasonably priced and all 9 meals were excellent, catering for those who wanted more traditional fare (eg. the trio of dumplings), local produce (eg. the steaks), as well as fish fingers and chips for one of the children. The live music from the accordion and guitar, with a bit of yodelling thrown in, really added to the atmosphere and was loud enough for us to hear over our chat, but wasn't at all intrusive. Menus were in English, which helped us non-German speakers, although the waitress had a bit of trouble translating the dishes back to German. Overall, it really made our Christmas Day.

Stopped here for a bite to eat. The food was superb and the outdoor eating area is a must in good weather. The views are spectacular.

We come here often and are always welcomed by friendly staff, usually Monica, the owner who personally supervises everything. The menu offers a good choice and the food is consistently excellent. Not as heavy as some traditional Bavarian food. The owner and some staff speak excellent Engish!

Firstly we visited without reading the reviews! The restaurant is in the main street 5 mins from the station in this small town. No car park (but easy to park locally) and inside seating downstairs , small outside area on side of main street. It was a hot night and they had a good range of regional food and a small seating area outside which was really busy . service was good and price reasonably . Regional house wine nice and Bayern beir is the best ! Food very good and big Bayern portion , in short we all had a great meal (3 of us) . so for us we would go back it was that good , will be interested what others now think.

In order to enjoy special in a pleasant atmosphere, we meet nice one for you and care for you with attentive service. When shopping, we prefer of course fresh produce from the Allgau, where they are grown and matured. In our open kitchen, so to speak, the
We went there for a dinner in February. The place was absolutely packed, yet we were promised a table within 5 minutes. Before 5 minutes were gone we were seated. Then the waiter gave us plenty of time to stare at the german menu and find our bearings around it. When we asked for his opinion he gave us some pretty good recommendations. Food presentation was excellent, taste - not bad at all, portions - unexpectedly big. Service - speedy and efficient. No undue attention, yet constantly there for us when we needed them. It's a good place for a dinner in a lovely Bavarian village!

We loved our evening at Riegers. The service was spot on, really friendly and caring. The atmosphere was wonderful. Slightly modern still keeping the rustic charm befitting the town. We shared flammkuchen for entree....we LOVE flammkuchen so relished the chance! Perfectly crisp base, lovely topping, beautifully cooked and light as a feather. Main was venison for me and cooked to perfection with a lovely reduction sauce, perfectly cooked brussel sprouts and chewy parsnip. Seasonal, fresh and delicious. They served the noodles separately and I was happy for that as the dish didn't need it (in my opinion) the portion size was good as is. Portion sizes in Germany seem enormous! My husband had 200gms of rump steak cooked medium rare (you ask for it cooked "English" to get rare to medium rare in this part of Germany!). This dish was a bit of a let down for three simple reasons easy to correct. The steak was unrested so the blood drained onto the plate and mixed with the sauce to make for a pink look, not ideal. The mushroom sauce itself was just bland and needed a good dose of mushroom taste and acidity. The potatoes served with his dish were a bit oily and not very appetising. Just basic errors which I think were the result of a busy kitchen rather than an overall downfall in the cooking as my venison proved they know their stuff out back. So I would absolutely recommend Riegers. The wine list is small and very well priced, the staff really care and it's a great little restaurant we'd return to if we were staying longer.

After having been given the "brush-off" at another restaurant we went here. Monday is a busy night for restaurants in this area it seems, as so many are closed. Regardless, the hostess found a place for us and the waitress Bethina was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We had Allgauer Buble Edelbier- very good. I had the Braumeister Teller, my wife the Swallmerl Teller. Outstanding! She remarked on her amazement how German food is not rated on par with other cuisines, such as French. Go here and be well served.
