We loved our evening at Riegers. The service was spot on, really friendly and caring. The atmosphere was wonderful. Slightly modern still keeping the rustic charm befitting the town. We shared flammkuchen for entree....we LOVE flammkuchen so relished the chance! Perfectly crisp base, lovely topping, beautifully cooked and light as a feather. Main was venison for me and cooked to perfection with a lovely reduction sauce, perfectly cooked brussel sprouts and chewy parsnip. Seasonal, fresh and delicious. They served the noodles separately and I was happy for that as the dish didn't need it (in my opinion) the portion size was good as is. Portion sizes in Germany seem enormous! My husband had 200gms of rump steak cooked medium rare (you ask for it cooked "English" to get rare to medium rare in this part of Germany!). This dish was a bit of a let down for three simple reasons easy to correct. The steak was unrested so the blood drained onto the plate and mixed with the sauce to make for a pink look, not ideal. The mushroom sauce itself was just bland and needed a good dose of mushroom taste and acidity. The potatoes served with his dish were a bit oily and not very appetising. Just basic errors which I think were the result of a busy kitchen rather than an overall downfall in the cooking as my venison proved they know their stuff out back. So I would absolutely recommend Riegers. The wine list is small and very well priced, the staff really care and it's a great little restaurant we'd return to if we were staying longer.

We stopped here for lunch twice and in both cases it was very delicious. highly recommended restaurant! Cannot judge about the Guesthouse as we didn't stay there.

Small restaurant in the beautiful village Holzgau. The Hanny family invites you to linger and sample local and international dishes.
We went there looking for a satisfying dinner as we were hungry from skiing. The place looked great, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. They gave us tips on finding some local party, not that there was any, not their fault. Totally worth it.
This is a berggasthaus. It is surrounded by mountains. The owners are a very friendly family. The food is simple but tasty and cheap. The rooms are decent and ours was with a balcony. If you don't mind the drive into the mountains it is well worth visiting.

We went for the 11. time (summer and wintertime),consumed a lot of times in our earlier holidays, and came this time from the Sunnalm. We had just eaten and drink before the hut because we didn't know how far it was. Then we came closer and saw the hut, so we decided not to stop for eating and drinking, and just stopover for a stamp of the mountainhut. I 'd better not stopped because the staff was very unpolite and said in German about must have to consume, drink something, if not not welcome!!Well, Bye Bye the Tiroler gastfreiheit.... It's only about the money, shame on you staff !!Never again, there are a lot of huts and alms with friendly staff, also if you just come passing.

Cosy restaurant and lovely choice of typical Tirol dishes. The service on the night we attended was ordinary to say the least, the waitress was more interested in sitting at the bar having a drink and cigarette instead of checking on the welfare of her customers. The restaurant allows smoking and dogs - both of which are annoying but the smoke haze ensured we didnât linger over our meals but made a rapid exit once the meals were eaten.I would give this restaurant a wide berth there are other options that are much better.
