Dined here one night during stay at the Neuer Am See Hotel. Excellent service, diverse menu (some good fish options), tasty food. Nothing not to like.

Had a dinner here, just as a storm hit the area. Mains for 4, 2 deserts; 4 beers & a half carafe of good white cost â¬88-good value. Great atmosphere in a very German restaurant. Of the four of us, two enjoyed their meal and two did not, but that was more about their choices than the food itself. As usual hereabouts, you should have (at least some) German & cash. English & cards don't seem to work..

Lovely chalet style building which is renowned for its fish restaurant. However we booked rooms here on a bed and breakfast basis and were delighted by our stay. The hosts are very welcoming and we and our children loved the home from home atmosphere. The rooms were a good size, clean and well equipped with lovely views over the hills and the little village of Rottau. Breakfast was very generous with a good choice of fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts and on your table a big basket of rolls and large platter of cheese, ham and salami. If you choose to have dinner here be sure to go in early as it fills up quickly. We did not choose to eat their specialty fish dishes but we can recommend the schnitzel! If you decide to stay make sure you stroll into the village and see the lovely flowers in all the window boxes, the pretty church and traditional cow sheds. It's a little gem!

On the advise from our hotel we visited this establishment and found it to be very good. We all ordered something different so we could taste each other's meal and none of us were disappointed! The beer was great and the service was good. No one spoke English when we were there but we got by just fine. I would definitely go again!

We stopped here for lunch one day in July on our trip around Bavaria. We had gone on one of the mountain lifts for hiking. It was a really hot day 30+C (90+F) and we were looking for a place for lunch without going down to the lake. Several places were closed as it was out of lunch hours and before dinner. The patio is outside off the main road. They only served lunch outside on the patio and we were able to find a table under the shade of a tree. There was only 1 waitress for the entire patio and there should have been 2.I am a vegan (vegetarian, no eggs, no dairy) and we saw a posted menu with several vegetarian options. Unfortunately they did not apply to the lunch menu. There was nothing on the menu for me that I could make suitable except for the childrens spaghetti with tomato sauce. We couldn't understand some of the entree terminology (our phone apps were no help and the waitress spoke minimal english). My husband, therefore, picked at random from what he could understand and got this big hunk of meat that he had to try to cut off a bone with a butter knife (leg of ??). We tried to get the waitresses' attention to get a steak knife to no avail. After a while he gave up and we ended up just paying and leaving.Overall costs were reasonable at 23.80 Euro for the two of usWorst meal of our week long trip around Bavaria.

It is a wonderful restaurant with a very good service. There is a place for kids to play, a room to change kid's diapers, and chairs for children. There view from veranda is nice even when you have the stormy weather. The fish is delicious and tasty deserts are waiting for you there.

Great location and easy to find. Its a typical German Gasthof and I had a single room with a very modern designed en-suite.The room was small but had plenty of space in the room.Reception staff were very helpful during check in and out and spoke good English. They take credit cards. I had a meal in the restaurant which was a very typical German design but the food was very average compared to others I have stayed at in the past. They have no English menu and the two waitresses spoke a little English and were very helpful and friendly. Plenty of locals in the restaurant. WIFI was not so good but this maybe because of the mountains.Free parking around the back of the hotel.Buffet breakfast cannot be faulted a great selection but only hot choice was boiled eggs but still plenty to chose from.Overall a good place would stay again.

We ate here as a large group and were not disappointed - there is an excellent selection of different food and even though it is a fish restaurant, there are meat and non-meat options and some Bavarian specialities. Portions are of a good size and there is an extensive wine menu. Ask to see the schnapps collection - the bottles are enormous!

After many years visited this outstanding fish restaurant in a new winter pavillion . Superbly prepared main course. Dessert list a bit thin. Wine list needs to be expanded. Friendly staff. Looking forward to returning in the Spring Dear Mr. Hans B.!Thank you very much for your nice comment. We looking forward to meet again. Greetings from the Chiemsee, Julia & Dominik
