I loved to stay here for the weekend, enjoyed the trecking possibilities and the vast beautifull panorama. As allways on an Alm you need a car to get there or be good on foot Very good, clean and new rooms and appartments. The only thing I didn't like is the not working wifi. Maybe some more routers would help here.Nice people and food.

Walked down from the cable car station and you come to this cafe. Cake to die for! Do go in and look though. There are lots to choose from! We also had two rhubarb drinks which we have just discovered while we have been here. Chickens wandering freely between the tables which adds to the ambience. There is a play area for children.

On our sunny terrace, in our refurbished restaurant in a 50ties and 60ties retro style and in our Bavarian Zirbelstube our Alpenrose Bayrischzell Hotel & Restaurant is offering a great breakfast buffet with ecological products. We are serving fresh cooked
We stayed one night at this hotel. The room was spacious and very clean. The only downside was the balcony. There was one long balcony for 4 rooms, so there was no privacy. The breakfast was very generous. We had to sit at a reserved table (every room has his name card on the table). We sat with another couple at a table. It felt a bit strange.Dear Hilde, thank you for your comment of your stay in our Alpenrose. We are happy to read that you enjoyed it and felt well. Please accept our apologies for your missing privacy at breakfast. We would be glad if you would give us a chance to fulfill all your desires during a next stay in our Hotel and Restaurant.Warm regards from Bayrischzell is sending the team of the Alpenrose

The meal was unexciting, though inexpensive. The quality might depend on what you order, though one might expect something better than pomme frites from the freezer - at Alpenwirt they make them themselves and they taste accordingly good.

This wonderful new restaurant is in the old Wendelstein Hotel building in the center of Bayrischzell. The new owners have renovated the restaurant area and expect the hotel guest room renovation to be finished and ready for occupancy by the end of 2016. There is a beer garden for outdoor dining and drinking when the weather cooperates. My partner and I have dined at the Alpenwirt a number of times since their opening and keep coming back for more. We especially like the diversity of the menu which features Bavarian favorites prepared with local ingredients. There is something for every taste including vegetarian and children's dishes. There is also an extensive beer, schnapps, and wine list . And there is also a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. We like the traditional Bavarian favorites Wiener Schnitzel, Almschnitzel, Schweinefilet and the wonderful Kaiserschmarrn. However, my favorite item on the Alpenwirt´s menu is the Almburger. This burger must be eaten with two hands and is served on a bun loaded with bacon, roasted onions, lettuce, tomato and pickles served with handmade french fries. Stop by and have a burger or one of their other tasty dishes. You will not be disappointed!

Stopped here for supper. Unfortunately no English menu and no one to translate so it was a bit pot luck. I ended up with a fish in sauce with rice and a salad. My husband had the schnitzel which came with fried potatoes. Dessert was the coup there a fete for two - a large ice cream, fresh fruit and cream concoction. Very tasty. Service was good. There was live music and a good atmosphere with what seemed to be mostly locals. Worth a visit.

The restaurant is a short walk from our hotel and we ended up eating there twice. The first night, we ate on the terrace next to a beautiful farm field. The setting could not have been more delightful. This is the season of fresh mushrooms, so my wife enjoyed a well-prepared rump steak with homemade noodles and mushrooms in a stroganoff type of sauce. Delicious. I enjoyed the wienerschnitzel. As good as the meals were the desserts were just amazing. Try to save room if you can.On our return trip we sat inside due to somewhat cooler weather. Once again we enjoyed it very well prepared meals and the service was friendly and efficient throughout.

A Great country-style Steak/Chop/Game grill in a beautiful setting in Upper Bavaria.Servers present a raw array of exotic cuts from which to choose which are then grilled on the earthen hearth located in the dining room. A fantastic German salad is also available (in 2 sizes) for those who don't do the meat thing. We brought some serious wine with us but also enjoyed the local strong Dunkel Weissbock beer pictured. They do a wonderful job here. Can't wait to return!
