Things to do in Bad Arolsen

Welcome to Berlinchen. Meet friends, party, good food, drinks, live-music and DJ. Maybe the best bar in town.
I hav been there for a live performace of Meyer-Mueller-Schulze or similar band name. They are cover band for rock classics from the 80ies and 90ies. It was great. The bar keeper is also fairly fast.Any time again.

The staff were very friendly and discreet. The view from the cafe was fantastic, there are tables available outside and plenty of space inside with children's play area. The breakfast card offered various selection to suit everybody. There were extras available and all good value for money. The cafe is well known for the different types of waffles on the menu. After you have eaten go for a walk around the lake. The campsite near by also had a cafe with plenty of spaces.

The restaurant is in an old castle. The atmosphere is great. On Wednesdays they turn off all the lights and use nothing but candles. The food and service were very good, and the local beer was excellent. I would strongly suggest visiting The Wetterburg if you have a large group that wants to experience a night that will be talked about for a long time!

Personal Tip. Situated in a lokal centre named WETTERBURG of the Barock-City BAD AROLSEN /Hessen/ Waldeck vou find a very fine spanish Taperia and Restaurant, called LA SARTEN; situated in an ancient, historic Inn, called ALTES GASTHAUS BUSCH, mentioned si
This is an old style pub turned into a Spanish restaurant. The food was great when it came but was certainly the slowest service we have experienced in Germany. Limited understanding of German or English on part of staff. Very slow to let us pay at the end. So it is a nice meal - large portions - but be prepared to wait. Not nearly as busy as it should have been due to location, value for money, etc. Sie ist uns ein wichtiger Ansporn, für Sieals unsere Gäste immer noch besser (and quicker; if you have few time, please tell us... ) zu werden.Für das Team der Taperia La Sartén im ALTES GASTHAUS BUSCH, Ihr Chefkoch Salva

The place makes out as the top restaurant in Bad Arolsen, and it probably is. But nothing more. The menu is very limited, which can be an indicator of great things to come. But they didn't. There was a pumpkin soup for me, and a clear tomato soup for my company. Both okay, but neither of an exceptional taste. Then we took another appetizer as 'main', the regional, Prussian Königsberger Klopse, meat balls of minced veal. The characteristic taste comes from the accompanying capers, in the cream(y) sauce. In our case the vegetable with them was turnip cabbage, 8 minuscule pieces boiled to be just hard. Not even al dente. The capers were obviously strewn onto the finished buttery sauce. The meat balls had seen tiny amounts of spices and were probably supposed to obtain the taste from a grilled anchovy on their top. While this latter is sometimes considered 'the classical variant', it is uncommon in most places, and took us by some surprise. The accompanying dips were the best part of our lunch meal. The baguette was okay, and yet it could have been more fresh and crispy. The service was also okay, and yet more on a level and a style of a normal pub.

The attraction of the greenhouse of Restaurant Schlossgarten is enormous. It's spacious, cool, modern, friendly and clean. The friendly waiter recommends the Pinot Griogio out of four other attractive wines. It's spot on: not too fruity, balanced and exactly on temperature. Why have we waited so long before we came down to Bad Arolsen ? Oh, yes, I forgot. We wanted to visit the Schloss, Queen Emma's birthplace.
