I had perfectly cooked ribeye. Accompanied by a drink, chips, mushroom, onion and tomatoes. All for £12.95. I upgraded to sweet potato fries (£1 more) and an additional side salad. House wine was more than quaffable. In all, reasonably priced but not compromised on quality. Faultless service too.

Visited on Sunday with the family and had high expectations. The decor was qwerky but very charming and the staff were very welcoming and attentive. However we did have to wait a long time for our main courses which were just okay. The beef was overcooked, the Yorkshire puddings were a little too big for the balance of the meal and the potatoes weren't fluffed up and crispy and the whole dish was slightly underseasoned. We would return but wouldn't rush back.Hi there, We are really upset that your last visit to The George and Dragon wasn't quite perfect. We thought we would let you know that the pub is now under new management and we would love for you to call back in and give us a second chance. We have relaunched our food menu with some brand new home-cooked specials, and we have extended the bar range so thereâs a tipple for everyone. All served with a smile :) We hope to see you soon, George and Dragon Management

This was our first visit to The Goshawk and we werenât disappointed. Such a lovely warm welcome by Ffion and Jason. Ffion looked after us throughout the afternoon. The service was excellent and her bubbly character infectious. There was 7 of us and we had a mixture of mains and sandwiches. The food was very well presented and plentiful. I had the BLT which was bursting with bacon! It come with chips and salad! The outside area has lovely views over to Cheshire and a play area for Children. It is also dog friendly. We will definitely be back and thanks again to Ffion and Jason. Good luck with your driving yes Ffion!Hello SteveThank you so much for your wonderful review and fantastic feedback, from reading it certainly sounds like you had the "Full Ffion" experience! It's great to hear you enjoyed your visit and the food and I'll be passing on your kind words to the kitchen team, who I am sure will appreciate it.We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.Kind RegardsNeil

A Gastro Pub and Restaurant situated right in the heart of Cheshire just 10 minutes from Chester and close to some of Cheshire's best loved attractions such as Delamere Forest, Chester Zoo, The Blue Planet Aquarium and Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet. Our H
I read some mixed reviews about this restaurant but the attraction of a wood fired oven making fresh pizza was enough to stir my curiosity.I really wish we hadnât bothered. How a pizza can taste so bland is beyond me and particularly tasteless pepperoni, chicken and ham and pineapple that doesnât taste of pineapple. My son had a pepperoni pizza which had 7 slices of pepperoni and was covered in plastic cheese. The Hawaiian only had flavour through the addition of chillies and the Calzone was just bland with an over sweetened tomato sauce.Iâm not a caterer but would guess that the pizza toppings are bought in bulk judged by the uniformity of the squares of chicken and ham. This is what letâs the place down that fresh ingredients have flavour but catering packs dry out and lose flavour over time.If you want decent pizza avoid this place.

As Brunning and Price pubs were born in the area - weâve always enjoyed attending their pubs - but since Frankie and Bennys took over its all gone steadily down hill (hardly a surprise!). The Morris Dancer started well but itâs fallen foul to the pinching of margins from above with food standards being squeezed, short of staff and slow service. Sunday 28th Sept, booked in advance for a table of 7, asked if the Sunday roasts would still be available at 7pm, and was told, adamantly that they would..... as that was the main reason we were going we were hugely disappointed that theyâd sold out!!!! On top of that we had over an hour to wait for our food, which seems to be the norm with The Morris Dancer nowadays...it was less than 20% full so what was going on? Half the desserts were unavailable and all we got was an embarrassed waiter apologising and shovelling meal vouchers into our hands as we left. Waste of time as we wonât be going back!!! To top the night off - 5 out of my party had food poisoning - one of them on the way home. Avoid!!!!!!

This hotel has great views and is very comfy with great showers and very friendly staff but it needs more management. I have never before been offered a teaspoon to eat soup because a hotel can't find a soup spoon or told a hotel "can't find" the porridge in the morning. All said with good grace and good humour, but a lack of senior management lets this otherwise lovely hotel down.

We went to the Boot on an early evening - there were lots of people enjoying a beverage in a very pretty outdoor patio space. The inside of the Boot is eclectic and very old - in a good way - low ceiling beams, fireplace and nicely appointed tables. We shared the backed camembert and I had a penne dish that had a hint of heat with olive oil and tomatoes. The flavours were excellent, the wine list was not extensive but offered nice variety and good quality and the servers and staff were very friendly. It is a place that look forward to visiting on my next trip over the pond to the Cheater area next year.

We stumbled on this lovely place while staying at nearby Nunsmere Hall.. The deco inside is amazing, so quirky and everywhere you look inside is something different.. Very comfy armchairs at the dining table, lovely friendly, welcoming staff and the food we had was so filling and tasty.. We enjoyed it so much we returned for tea the following night.. Thank you Fishpool Inn for a fantastic tea in beautiful surroundings with friendly staff... We definitely return again...
