We arrived at the Crooked Ewe and found the parking lot to be full. We drove to the other side of the building and there was a small parking lot that appeared to be an employee lot with a wood fired smoker out back. We left, thinking we'd find another place to eat, however when we got to the stoplight, we noticed a parking lot for another business with people appearing to walk to the restaurant. Upon entering the parking lot, there were signs indicating this was the Ewe overflow parking. We got in the restaurant and it was not full as the lot would have indicated. We were waited on quickly and had drinks within minutes. We ordered the hushpuppies as an appetizer and I had the gyro and my wife the arepa. The hushpuppies are amazing. Much different flavor than we expected. These aren't your normal hushpuppies. We absolutely loved them though. My gyro came on a homemade pita what was phenomenal. The flavors were just fantastic with the cucumber kimchi and the pickled red onion. My wife loved her arepa equally as well. Our waitress was back for refills in a timely manner and with the check at the end of the meal as well. The atmosphere was wonderful with a beautiful view of the river outside the back of the restaurant. For a couples date night, it was a hit with my wife. We will definitely be going back. If the lot is full, go back to the corner and park there!

the menu was quite unique: Brussel sprouts and apple pieces on a pizza?!! Found this gem while passing time. Itâs a small establishment but the service and tastiness of the food packs a big punch. I loved the eclectic feel of the place. There seemed to be only one server but the bartender was a team player and delivered drinks to everyoneâs table when the server was taking food orders. They offered a decent selection of beers. I enjoyed the crispness of a grapefruit IPA called Emilyâs. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and gave recommendations about local favorites. I definitely plan to stop in again during my next visit to South Bend.
What a cool place in DTSB! A great atmosphere with fun outdoor games: corn hole, connect-4, Yardtzee, etc. Fantastic drinks with talented bartenders! Very loud interior made it hard to talk; we requested a table outside and were lucky to get one quickly, it was much better for conversation! The menu was okay. My salad was okay; my husband had the brisket which he said was good. I think the pizza is the way to go.
