We had coq au vin, very thin sauce, two potato's and a chicken wing!Very disappointed. As we had high hopes for this place! I am not sure they realise that the dish was very low standard. Cordialement

The location is great (an old station), with a tremendous view of the river and the famous cliffs from the terrace. The service is impeccable and friendly, and the food is wonderful (for extremely reasonable prices). My husband and I have eaten there numerous times since the restaurant opened, and we were never disappointed - for example, the magret de canard is outstanding, and the daily specials have included a blanquette de veau (that tasted like my grandmother's!), and a brandade (a kind of garlicky mashed potatoes with fish - very tasty). Our vegetarian friends were impressed with the food as well. Excellent deal!!

We arrived late for lunch. Although we were able to eat, there was only two items left on the menu. The menu de jour had been finished. This of course was our fault for arriving at 2.00 pm.I had the main meal at 18.80, and my wife was offered a salad "de Paris". It was lettuce with a few strips of white ham, and a few strips of emmental cheese, no dressing. When the bill came we were charged 18.80 for the salad, which I thought was excessive and taking advantage of us as tourists. Unfortunately my wife paid the bill, had I seen this charge I would have queried it...but that is not the point....18.80 for some lettuce and a few strips of cheese and ham ?????However the restaurant was well shaded outside, with lots of locals. I bet they didn't pay 18.80 for a cheap salad??

Top notch, imaginative dishes made with local, seasonal ingredients. The day we came for lunch the starter was a gazpacho with arancini and salad - the gazpacho was nicely spicy, a tad heavy on the cidar vinegar but otherwise delicious, The arancini was cleverly adapted with local ingredients - duck and goats cheese instead of ragu and mozza! Nice touch. The lettuce leaves in the soup were surprising, but welcome on such a hot day. The main course, announced as stuffed courgettes actually ended up being one courgette with a huge hunk of roast pork. I was looking forward to a light, veggie dish, but the courgette was plumped full of chorizo and because they had been so busy, the kitchen replaced the courgettes with the roast pork...I could have been disappointed, but TBH, it was the tenderest, best seasoned piece of pork I have ever eaten! I think had we asked, they would have been able to accommodate a vegetarian. The dessert, the lightest of little cakes stuffed with preserved apple and pinneaple with a creme anglaise and vanilla ice cream was again, a tad heavy and very sweet and had it not been a fixed menu, I would not have chosen it...but to be fair - it was excellent. As was the service.3 courses, 2 beers, 2 coffees - I think we paid â¬38.5 euros for lunch for 3 people. It is worth the detour to this lovely restaurant in the middle of nowhere! Had we been staying in the area longer, we'd have gone back for dinnerThank you for this pleasant description of our establishment, it is with the utmost pleasure that we will develop a vegetarian menu if you make the request. Very soon we hope.Romain and Marlène
