Reviews on Gastropub food in Paraty, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Named for a local swamp fish, Paraty sits on Brazil's southeastern coast, 125 miles south of Rio, with the Bocaino Mountains at its back. The small colonial town's center is a national historic monument with well-preserved buildings on its pedestrian-only streets. Take a boat trip out into the bay to the flotillas of islands and coves nearby. Explore sugarcane plantations and hike or take a train through Atlantica Forest. Keep an eye out for the monkeys that roam the cobblestone streets.

Tastiest home made Hamburgers and Sandwich´s with live music every night. Really cozy atmosphere, nice burguers and delicious drinks until midnight. Well inside the Historic Centre the best option for an alternative Paraty experience.
Amazing hamburger with brazilian/latin american style. The caramelized onions with cachaça Gabriela (with a bit of cinnamon taste) or burger with pineapple were amazing. They also have good craft beer! They use sostainable products, have vegetarian options, wonderful decoration and live music. A great option!

Brazilian breakfast on the beach with coffee, tea and milk, fresh fruit juices, a selection of cereals, bread, ham & cheese, flan, home-made cakes, fresh fruits, butter, jam and caramel milk. Dinners, barbacues, partys and a very cool feeling by the sea a
Staffed by helpful happy Brazilians this is one of the coolest located back packers hostels right by the beach, a fair sized Brazilian breakfast in the sun by the beach bar is great in the morning. The sea itself is more a lagoon and is muddy so what we did is got a 2 man kayak / canoe and went 2 km round the corner where its not muddy and swam there and then went far across the lagoon past the mangroves to an enchanted beach by a long wooden pier over looking tropical forest.
