Welcome to The George & Dragon Inn, Sandwich. This property dates from 1446 and has been a licensed inn since 1552. It has undergone many changes since it was built, but from the day it was first licensed over four centuries ago the house has never closed
Seemingly very busy (we went on a Wednesday) now under new management. Very good food - I had a great Barnsley lamb chop and wife's skate was tasty too. Staff were excellent, attentive and very friendly. You probably need to book

The Hop and Huffkin provides a contemporary and casual dining and bar experience, serving great Kentish food from an original and seasonally changing menu. Our bar is stocked with Kentish beers, ciders, wines, spirits, fruit juices and mineral waters. We
Tuesday night in Sandwich, nothing on the telly so couldnât think of a better thing to do than head to the Hop and Huffkin for a paella. We had lovely, home baked garlic bread to start and both decided on the mixed paella. We have eaten paella in Valencia and were most impressed by the flavour and in our own individual paella pan. A nice bottle of red washed it down smoothly. There was a guitar player (Thomas Abrahams) who played throughout the evening - a few more Spanish tunes wouldâve been nice because the ones he did play, he played extremely well. Josh was our waiter and very friendly and efficient he was. It was a shame they didnât offer Spanish puddings to follow - a flan, crema Catalana or brazo de gitano, but the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was delicious. A very nice meal and a nice buzzy atmosphere - weâre looking forward to the Moroccan night!

I spotted this restaurant whilst wandering around the streets of Margate one sunny morning and popped in to see their dinner menu. We were greated by the proprietor and not only offered a table for the following evening (a Friday) but he also suggested we might like to try there social club table with a set menu and set price to include wine. We booked and invited some friends to join us.We had a great evening and met some lovely people. What's more we had great food and plenty of it.I'll be back and I'd recommend this 'dog friendly' venue to anyone
