Food whilst is nice is very over priced, the vegetarian mixed grill my brother had was £14 for two Quorn sausages chips and veg which is hardly value for money. I waited about half and hour for drinks and the service was lack lustre on a quiet day, very disappointing I saw others wait and then saw all the staff at the bar. Not exactly what I would call good service, I saw a blonde lady who was probably mid 30s smile, everyone else was miserable. Good food, poor service.

Our philosophy is fresh, simple food, made with seasonal ingredients, served in an informal, friendly way in a warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
Went there on Saturday night and the place looked fantastic. The staff were delightful to each customer. Very helpful to myself in the fact i am coeliac and they helped me with the allergy listing from a detailed folder. Then the food came and that surpassed the surroundings and great staff. It was delicious and served hot and in very presentable pottery. Loved this place and will certainly recommend it 100%.

As we are local to the area we visit the Monk regularly, it's one of our favourites! The food is consistently stunning and the new smaller plates in the week are amazing. Really good value for money and the restaurant has such a lovely feel. The staff are attentive and friendly without being overbearing and the service is quick and efficient. The Sunday roast is definitely the best locally (in my opinion!) with a lovely choice of starters and mains. The portions are a really good size and always cooked beautifully. The cocktails and wine selection are also brilliant! A definite must visit if you haven't already!
